I waitressed there about 11 years ago and I recall that looking was encouraged, but touching was strictly forbidden. It's actually more of a "wholesome" place than you might think. We actually got our share of families coming in to eat.

I didn't take time to read the whole thread, but do have one point to make.
The women (wait staff) in Hooters are very seldom anywhere close to a good looking as the ones on the billboards and bus boards.
At least not the ones I've visited. I'm sure that Killarney is one of the exceptions -- in fact, probably one of the ones on the billboards.
It's just a restaurant.

Hooter's is no big deal. Girls wear shorts, tank tops, and PANTY HOSE. I took my son when he was only 12 and I have taken my mother, she is 80!

I'm surprised noone minds....but
I don't worry about my husband but he doesn't go there, nor would I want him to. I don't care how good the food is; the place comes across as sleazy. He doesn't want to go there. And I don't know anyone else who goes there, either, except my hubby's business contacts. In fact, he is often asked to go there for business lunches but he always declines and suggests some place else. And they go someplace else. He is very much a leader-type person & people respect him because they know where he stands.
However, once when he was president of a local construction association, all of the board wanted to have something at Hooters. They went there, but he didn't go. Not in an obnoxious "I'm a better person than you" way but "I'm not interested in that-but you guys have fun" way. Some of these people have various marriage, drinking problems & they always come to him for advice.

There is nothing to be concerned about at Hooters!!! Despite the rep, it is actually a fun, almost family-type restaurant. The "Hooters Girls" are just waitresses, not strippers. They just have to wear those goofy orange satin 70's shorts and tight tank tops, big deal? You see a lot of girls on campus wearing equally revealing stuff. And they aren't exactly the most beautiful girls I have ever seen, either. Usually very friendly and fun, and well-endowed up front, but nothing to write home about. A friend of mine and I actually were considering getting jobs there during school but we got talked out of it because of the "image." We were just looking for good tips without having to strip!!!!!
To be totally frank, if a girl gets all pissy about her man going to eat at Hooters, she needs to find a hobby. And maybe some counseling.

As the girlfriend of a TKE, you have to be supportive of Hooters, considering the restaurant was started by a TKE. Everytime they have a Conclave or big meeting, they always end up at Hooters. It doesn't bother me at all, the women here in Dallas that work at them are just normal girls in shorter shorts, most of the women I know wear skimpier stuff than that just out at the bars....

Hooters isn't such a big deal. I agree that there are a lot of unattractive girls that work there. They sure don't look likethe calendar pin up girls of Hooters. Plus many don't have big boobs.
I'm more concerned about bachelor parties where htey have strippers come to the house. It really bothers me when people say it's ok to touch bc you aren't commited until there is a ring on your finger(I've heard people say that and so men go and sleep with these girls). I just hope to marry a virtuous and moral and horny male- but only with me

LOL, well my man just called me-he is hanging out having a beer with his best friend, at Hooters! Which he does about once every week or two. I really don't see a problem, especially since I was just watching this True Life thing on MTV, they were doing one on Beauty Pagents, and they had the Hooters International Bikini Contest on there. And some of those girls were not all the pretty. Of course they had really great bodies, but some were not that attractive. So if that is what there is to see, then I don't care about him going there, its just harmless fun.

It's absolutely hit-or-miss with Hooters girls; some places, they're really cute, some places....not so much
Plus, it's not like we're talking about a strip club here, just a restaurant. I've yet to be in a Hooters where men were touching the...well, touching the hooters. There should be no reason to get mad at a significant other for going to a restaurant.

Collin- you mean the hooters next to you don't have the private VIP rooms in the back? And the long "Extras" menu that you can only see under a blacklight?
Damn man, you are missing out! You'll have to come visit.
For you women all I can say is:
When you think of Hooters and your man, Be Afraid . . . be very afraid!

I think it can be boiled down to something else too. TRUST. If you don't trust your guy to go to a restaurant with "Delightfully tacky" decor then there may be either a trust or insecurity issue. If you trust your guy, then why worry about what his visual aids are during a meal or drink?

That might be the gayest thing to get mad over that I've ever heard. You mean to tell me that there are chicks out there who get pissed just because a guy who wants some beer and wings is served by soem chick with nice tits? how insecure is that????

If I had the money I'd start a Hooters here in Mo-town. It would do a shitload of business and theres no shortage of hot chicks to work there.
I'd totally work there.

I would be more worried if Mr. 33 went to Raisins, than to Hooters.

I don't care when he goes to strip clubs with the boys, why would I care about Hooters?
