I had so much fun today during my first full day of rush! I can't believe it's already over!! Today was six party but there were eight time periods so we got two breaks, mine were first! I was so nervous sitting there watching Coyote Ugly with two other rush groups.
When those were finally over we headed to our first house, Alpha Chi Omega. When we came in the girls were all singing and clapping and I met the girl who was going to take me around. She took me into the formal room and we found out that we both were in a bunch of organizations together and we never ran out of things to talk about. She introduced me to a ton of people and I really enjoyed that house!
After lunch my first house was Alpha Phi, the girl who took me around was from my hometown. We were taken to their rooms and sat in groups of three rushers and rushees. It was fun, but the girl I was paired with didn't talk much and we didn't have much in common besides our hometown. I felt kinda the same with the rest of the girls in the room also.
Next was Delta Gamma, as soon as I walked in I felt really at ease. The girl who took me around was a senior who I had seen at parties before. She was really nice and we had a lot to talk about, never running out of things to talk about. I knew a lot of the girls who came up to talk with me and when she switched with one of her sisters I had an awesome time! The second girl was so nice and we had a ton in common. I was suprised at how comfortable I felt in the house. The house was really beautiful, and I felt like I belonged there.
The third house of the afternoon was Kappa Alpha Theta. I was brought into their formal room and the girl I met was so sweet! She and I had so much to talk about (from our love of TKE's to all girls schools) and was really nice. All the girls who came around were so nice and I felt really comfortable talking to them. I really liked the sense of sisterhoood that I had with them. I felt really close to each one I talked to.
The fourth house of the afternoon was Kappa Kappa Gamma. I walked in and the girl I was paired with had nothing in common with me. It was really hard to talk to her and we sat in silence a lot. I know it was the end of the day, but it got to the point where I just kept asking her questions trying to keep the conversation going. It seemed like she didn't want to be there and she kept looking at her watch.
The final house of the day was Pi Beta Phi. I walked in and felt at home! It was really comfortable there even though there were more rushees than actives. I liked seeing all my friends in the house and getting to meet more girls. I still love the Pi Phi house.
I was suprised at my reaction to a few of the houses, and I'm really excited to know where I'm going tomorrow. We have to meet with our Rho Chis at 7 am! They are going to tell us where we are going and then let us go back to our rooms to get ready. I'm so glad I went through rush, I'm having so much fun seeing all the houses and meeting people. Well I have to head to bed soon...I need my beauty rest!
thanks for all the support!
