"Elf".

But not just "Elf" - "Elf" Quote-a-long at Alamo Drafthouse!

http://drafthouse.com/movies/elf_quote-along/houston

"This year, Christmas comes early, and we're all going to spread that Christmas cheer the best way we know how - by singing and quoting loud for all to hear. And don't worry, if you can quote alone, then you can quote around other people. There's really no difference! Oh man, just writing out a paragraph with jarbled versions of Buddy's quotes from this movie is getting me all sorts of excited.
Will Ferrell's take on a North Pole elf trying to figure out Manhattan just might be the funniest he's ever been, and this is certainly the best holiday movie from the past ten years. To celebrate, we'll have jingle bells for everyone, bubbles for a few key scenes, and a present for whoever can eat their spaghetti the fastest! "Buddy the elf, what's your favorite color?" That's how I'm answering my phone all through December. "(Henri Mazza)

They have a spaghetti with maple syrup eating contest. I will not be participating.

Babes in Toyland with Laurel and Hardy - the 1934 movie.

You can find some clips on YouTube; in fact you might even be able to watch the entire movie. It's so corny - I love it.

The Year Without a Santa Claus
Elf
The Grinch
A Christmas Story

As I'm typing this, my kids are watching the Christmas specials on Disney Junior. I wonder how they'll answer this question in about 20 years....

This old cartoon movie called The Snowman. Its silent except for the "Walking in the Air" song. They are re-airing it this month because it's the 30 year anniversary and they apparently have made a sequel to it with the same production team as the original, so I'm kind of excited.

I have found myself wishing that someone -- maybe PBS or A&E -- would do a new production of Amahl and the Night Visitors, or at least show the 2007 version.

At least the original is on YouTube.

Cheers for Divine and the Pink Flamingos!

Didn't Lola Heatherton also do a version of Santa Bring My Baby Back To Me with the Five Neat Guys? Can't find it on YT.

For me:

1) A Muppet Christmas Carol. Yes, I'm 27 years old. No, I do not care. I love the Muppets. I actually think they get funnier as you get older? Or maybe the humor is just revealed a bit more?

2) Scrooged.
