Yes!

What I'm tired of hearing:

"Police are on the way. Leave the premises NOW."

Misuse of the word "apropos". It means "pertaining to" and it makes me nuts when people use it as a synonym for "appropriate".

Actually, the primary meaning of "apropos" is fitting, opportune or appropriate. "Apropos of" is an idiom that means "pertaining to."

This! This! It makes me crazy when I hear it because it's nearly always used the wrong way. What's worse is that it's becoming a very popular phrase.

I forgot to mention the main one I had in mind. On nearly every episode of The Bachelor/Bachelorette you'll hear something like:

"We had a great time on Sally and I's date." I's? Seriously?

I also get annoyed with "her/him and I".

"Did you buy some chicken soup?"

NO, I DON'T WANT ANY DAGGONE CHICKEN SOUP, DON'T ASK ME AGAIN. Despite the misleadings of Puff the Magic Dragon, chicken soup is not some magical substance that hits viruses with its chicken fatty kryptonite so you can stop insinuating that I want to be sick just because I won't eat the stupid soup!

Hmph. *stops ranting and snuggles deeper into the couch*
