My chapter of Alpha Chi Omega used the penguin as our symbol.
It actually is perfect. At Christmastime, everything is red, green and gold (yellow)---our official colors. It's AMAZING the red, green and yellow penguin items you can buy for really cheap the day after Christmas. That's when I did all my little sis shopping. I had some really cute stuff.
Many chapters use the angel. We couldn't because we have pi phi at our school and that is their official symbol.
I now collect all sorts of penguin items. I'm penguin obsessed!!!

I think that is AWESOME that your philanthropy is animal welfare. I've always had a special place in my heart for animals. even killing an ant breaks my heart (literally!!!). I'd love to hear about the different things you do to support them.
