Arrow Phi Kappa Psi Grand Arch Council

Phi Psi holds Grand Arch Council's (GACs) every two years, on even numbered years. I was initiated in 1987. I went to my first in 1988 in New Orleans, and I've never missed one. This summer will be my 9th, in San Diego.

For those Phi Psi's who've attended 7 GACs, we have the Order of the S.C. Its like a fraternity within a fraternity. I was inducted in 2000.

On the odd numbered years, we have our educational/leadership conference, known as the Woodrow Wilson Leadership School (WWLS.) I went to the one in 1989 and the recent one in 2003.

I've also attended 5 Executive Council meetings, outside of conventions, and the fraternity picks up the tab for those because I'm an officer.

ETA, because I almost forgot about Las Vegas! I attended our first housing conference in Las Vegas in September, 2003. That was a blast!

I just went to my first convention last summer. Even though I wasn't there for the whole time it was an incredible experience and made me proud to be an Alpha

TNX and AKPsi

I have been to my sorority's convention all the years that i have been a sister (2001,2002,2003) The first was in Washington, D.C., second in Park City, Utah, and this last one was in Orlando...I've been fortunate to have been on the convention committee for the past 3 years and it's a great experience!

It is great to finally meet your founders and other sisters that you just know their names....and everyone is just so wonderful!

With AKPSI, I was lucky enough to be a delegate (chapter paid for some stuff) in 2001. The Nat'l Convention was in New Orleans and that was the greatest trip! Still keep in touch with some of the brothers that i met. 2003 was not able to go but in 2005, it's going to be in Sin City (Las Vegas) so i'm def. going to that!

EVERYONE should go to a convention at least once!

I went to Conclave one year-I think I was 16 (Rainbow Girl). It was a huge shock to be one of very few girls surrounded by all those boys, but lots of fun!

I, too, attended DeMolay Conclave as a Rainbow advisor. The girls had a great time - well, I did too, because there were always some DeMolay advisors who were my age!

I went to Kappa Konvention last August and had a blast! It was very special for me because we had our chapter installation. I think the best part of these gatherings is really bonding with the women from the other chapters.

I can't wait for convention this year, even though the event planner for AXO must have had a brain freeze -- we are having national convention in ORLANDO at the Disney Hilton over the July 4th weekend!!! Hello? What kind of sense is this making?? They picked the hottest, most populated place for July 4th to have convention! UGH! I love Disney - I go about once or twice a year, but will not be over there this time. I can't deal with the 4 million people.

/rant... Yes, Alpha Chi will pay for me as CA, and our CP as well to go. I was so excited when I became a CA because I knew that I could travel to conventions -- well, our convention in Denver two years ago, I was pregnant and couldn't go because of the high altitude. I was so disappointed

conclave...

I am a past Honored Queen for Job's Daughters. as well as a Majority member for Rainbow. I was demolay chapter sweatheart, past chapter princess and past league sweatheart for demolay.......back in my younger younger days!

I always liked going as an adult ( also a past bethel guardian too) because there were always cute demolay adult male advisors too ...i agree on that one!

We hold Convention every three years, and I've been to all three since I pledged - 1997 in Denver, 2000 in Dallas, and 2003 in Michigan (our Centennial). It's always a fun experience...even better if you're not going as an official chapter delegate, in my opinion!

I've never gone to a national Alpha Phi Omega convention, but I have been to a sectional convention (at Purdue) and a regional convention at IU. I had a great time at both of them...it was great to meet brothers from other chapters. (I actually briefly dated a brother from Michigan whom I met at regionals!) The best part was singing the toast song at the banquet at regionals...we had this gigantic circle going through a couple rooms...and to hear everyone joining in...it gave me chills.
