I am sorry I lied. I am nearly 16, but everything else I said is true. I have started a sorority called Omega Zeta and I have been accepted for early orientation at a drama college. I just didnt want people looking down on me for my age... not old enough to be in a sorority etc. Sorry again and I'll leave now

All your credibility just went out the window and I hope that you haven't STOLEN things from American greek letter organizations to create your so called sorority.

So you have colors, a flower, a symbol, a crest, a badge? Public and private meanings behind the symbols?
We are NOT secret societies. If we were, we would not be communicating with others about our organizations on a public message board. If anything, we are societies/organizations with secrets. There is a huge difference.

Light blue and yellow? Teddy bear? It's basically Alpha Xi Delta except with no dark blue and calling the gold yellow. I understand the desire to be in a sorority (we all had it or we wouldn't be greek) but to me knocking off another sorority's traditions is just not cool.

Heh. That is pretty much the party line of the Freemasons.

Awww, and I was going to wish the OP luck. I still wish her and Omega Zeta luck, but there is never a reason to lie about your age. Lesson learned.

Ok I can't believe no one posted this her OZ blog: http://omegazetahouse.blogspot.com/

from her post:"Constantly striving for that which is honorable, beautiful and highest the women of OZ focus each day on building strong bonds of sisterhood as well as donating our time and money into many philanthropic events."

That first bit is directly from Kappa Delta (motto perhaps?).

Really if you are going to do something like start a sorority do it properly.

Well, she could do worse than stealing from Alpha Xi Delta and Kappa Delta. But still, it's not cool to lift so directly. But then, at 15 she's probably never HAD a lecture on plagiarism. Our founders (I don't know the history of KD but can assume it's similar) went through a LOT of hell to set up these organizations in a time when women had precious few rights in America. It dishonors them to just lift their hard earned work and call it your own.

However, Alpha Xi had one founder who was 15 at the time of founding so it's not completely implausible, presuming there are other members who are older. A couple of our founders were 26 at the time of founding, so I'm sure there was some real mothering of poor Alice, the baby of the group.
