Soooo... we met in the Grand Ballroom tonight for out PNM Orientation. It was so exciting!! There were so many young women in that room! We were shown a video and all the Pi Chis came out and sang a song out of nowhere; it was SO cute! Then we were all broken up into our Pi Chi Groups and there are roughly 65 women in each, I believe. Our Pi Chi's introduced themselves and then we all went around the room and did the same. They then spoke to us about the week and what was to go down. Our home base after every break and at the beginning of every day is: Jasper. (Remember I'm using Twilight themed names :])
I'm very excited! We have a long few days ahead, but I'm maintaining a positive attitude because I know that will help so so much! We start at 10 tomorrow morning, a lot later than I thought, and we have a break from 2:40 to 4:40 and then we end at 9:30, so I think we are visiting more than half of the 16 chapters tomorrow.
During my break tomorrow I will try to update if I'm not too tired! I'm SOOOOO excited!!
Again, thanks to everyone for reading! I hope my story is entertaining! hehe.
Goodnight and GO GATORS!

Okay, so today was absolutely amazing! I really didn't know what to expect, but that the experience that much better! My homebase is Jasper. Today I visited: Jasper, Rosalie, Emmett, Laurant, James, Bella, Alice, Esme, Charlie Swan, Edward.
Jasper- Great way to start the day! These girls were super nice and very pleasant. The first girl who rushed me was easier to speak to, and she brought me into a bedroom where 3 other groups of pnms/actives followed, it actually got kind of loud with only eight of us in the room, but it was okay. We also talked about TWILIGHT so, obvi, I liked her. Another girl spoke with me as well; however, the conversation did not flow like the first one did. I liked it, but I didn't love it.
Rosalie- Didn't really know much about this house before walking into it. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the girl who was rushing me was. We talked about fashion and makeup, (two things I'm really passionate about) their philanthropy, and volunteering. All these girls were very pretty and almost barbie-esque. Personality wise, I believe I could fit in; however, I do not look anything like those women, but if they really like me, that won't matter, and it doesn't to me.
Emmett- These girls were very nice! The first girl I spoke to shared the same major as me, so we spoke about that a lot and what we'd like to do with it in the future. I think that we clicked immediately. The next one I spoke with I felt as though I had to talk for the most part, but she was very nice. This house is a potential contender.
Laurant- All the girls in my group were raving about how this house is already their favorite when they haven't even walked inside yet. I don't get it, they just go by hear-say while I'd rather experience it for myself. But, hey, that's just me. I spoke to 2 girls in this house but I can't even remember their names. The first girl was sweet but she kind of cut me off at times, and with the second girl the convo seemed forced. This isn't the chapter for me, I just know it in my gut.
James- I REALLY liked this house, I would almost say I loved it. We spoke about philanthropy and giving back to the community and to people which is something I love doing and something their sorority tries to do every week. I spoke with two girls who were just so sweet and they were people who I could see myself being friends and maybe even sisters with.We spoke about football games and barbecues with fraternities. I really think I could see myself with those young women.
BREAKTIME!
Bella- This house was so gorgeous, I've always been attracted to it! The girl I spoke with was so nice. We spoke about our majors, football games, family, weddings, and New York City. Their speech from a few actives was very cute, and you can already tell how strong their sister hood is! I think this is a possible choice.
Alice- The girl I was paired with was super nice! I told her the story about my majors and whatnot and we found out that we work for the same company! I thought that was really cool! There was no lull in the conversation and I feel like many of the girls are people I could see myself with.
Esme- I spoke to three women here and they were SO sweet! This house may be one of (if not) my fave(s) of the day! We all had a lot in common, and all three were so welcoming!! They had a pop skit describing some of the things they do as a chapter and it's super sweet. When their president spoke to us I even got teary eyed, ALREADY! She had such a way with words about the strong bond their sisterhood has; I'm pretty sure this will be a contender (if they like me, too! :])
Charlie Swan- I don't really have too much to say about this house; it was kind of bland to me. The girl I spoke with was nice, but the conversation was forced. Even when the president spoke to us, she was so monotone and didn't really get excited when speaking about her sisterhood and chapter, which is kind of sad to me. Blah.
Edward- Last house of the night; WOOT! I was the first person in line and the first girl waiting to rush someone had the biggest smile on her face once the doors opened. I was so happy to see someone visibly excited especially since this was the last party of the night. At this house I spoke to 4 girls! I was like that's crazy, but I heard all the girls in my Pi Chi group saying that it happened to them, too. Between all 4 ladies, we spoke about big/little, school, their house, philanthropies, events, and work. All girls were so nice, and I think I could see myself here. I blended well with the four girls that I spoke with, at least.
6 more houses tomorrow, and I'm so PUMPED!! Wish me luckkkk! Time to sleep. Goodnight!

Soooo today we go to have six parties to go to and the day isn't as long. However we have to "preference" at the end of all the parties today, which I'm kind of excited about, because I kind already have an idea, but who knows? The houses I visit today could totally blow my mind and may be somewhere where I could call my home. The houses we visit today are:
Renesmee
Victoria
Jessica Stanley
Jacob
Mike Newton
Carlisle
Very exciting!! I will update when I get home today (hopefully)

I love reading UF stories! I hope your story ends with a bid to a chapter you love as much as I love mine, even all these years later

Love your story! You have such a great attitude about recruitment especially experiencing houses for yourself and not listening to what everyone else is saying. Good luck today!

Today was so fun! It wasn't as long as yesterday so that was a plus, and also the weather somewhat cooperated with us today. It looked like it was going to rain, but it didn't and it stayed overcast, so that was really nice. Today my group and I visited: Renesmee, Victoria, Jessica Stanley, Jacob, Mike Newton, Carlisle.
Renesmee- The girl I was paired with was super sweet and there was never any lull in our conversation. We spoke a lot about philanthropies, trophies, and family weekend. I'm not sure if I could see myself there, but I did feel pretty comfortable.
Victoria- Again, the young woman I was paired with was great and very welcoming! We spoke about TV nights in their house, people with coupons ( we both have to deal with this at work hahaha), nail polish, and their chapter president. Very pretty girls, another one that I'm not sure whether or not I could fit it, but I wouldn't be opposed to being invited back!
Jessica Stanley- The girl I was paired with was nice, however I bit hesitant and standoffish at first. The conversation picked up, though. We spoke about my major and networking. She was nice, but the place all in all was almost too "perfect" and almost stepford-ish. This isn't the place for me.
Jacob- Here, I spoke to three girls. The first was really nice, I could tell that she is kind of shy, but I just kept the conversation flowing as best I could and I believed she followed suit. Between the three ladies, we spoke about my year in college, major, their house and how it has been redone; the seats of their chairs were so cute and their house was beautiful! I believe I could see myself here.
Mike Newton- The girl I was paired with was a bit monotone at first, but I think because she was a little nervous, but the conversation got better in no time. We talked about their philanthropy and how it was something I would be interested in because I'm involved with something similar. BEAUTIFUL house. Still unsure about whether or not I could see myself there.
Carlisle- The last house of the day! WOOHOO! I LOVE this house! The young woman I was matched with spoke with me as if we have been friends for a while. No awkwardness at all! She was great! We spoke about networking, the same shows we like, my major and a lot of the girls in that group have the same major, and how being in a sorority can help someone so much and how sisterhood is such a beautiful thing to have. I also had kind of a deja-vu when I was sitting in this house; I felt as though I have been there before or have had a premonition of me being there in the future. Needless to say, I LOVED this house.
After the final party concluded, we all walked back to a building to preference our choices. We don't rank our top eleven, but we do rank our bottom five just in case it matches with their choice and it's still a possibility that we can be asked back.
My top 11:
Esme
Carlisle
James
Alice
Bella
Edward
Rosalie
Jasper
Renesmee
Jacob
Emmett
My bottom five:
Mike Newton
Victoria
Jessica Stanley
Charlie Swan
Laurant
I'm so excited to get my schedule tomorrow morning!! I have to be at "home base" at 7 am!! Although it's early, I know it will all be worth it! Goodnight, everyone and thanks for reading! GO GATORS!!

So, I woke up bright and early at 4:30 to start getting ready for my day and I'm super excited! I walk outside at 6:15 all cute and ready and my phone rings-- It's one of my pi chi's. I answered it to find out that I had been released from recruitment. I just don't understand. She told me about how my pi chi's are still there for me if I need to talk and if I was okay or if I needed anything. I am so crushed. I just don't understand how all 16 chapters could drop me after meeting with them for 20 minutes. Yes, I am a junior; however, I still have 3 years left in college due to a major switch and the addition of a minor and I made that clear to everyone. I was peppy, but not over the top and for the majority of the time, my conversations flowed really well. I just can't believe that I was dropped by ALL 16 chapters.I was expecting heavy cuts, but NOT this bad. After recruitment week is over, I plan on calling our office of Greek life and asking about COB or whatever it is that UF does. Although I am saddened by this, if it's not meant to be, it's not meant to be . Hopefully it is and maybe my journey is meant to be a bit rocky. Thank you all for reading and for all of your support!
