^ Yes, and it's true that people usually do have a favorite college when they apply. However, they also accept the fact that they might not get in.
And last time I checked, applying for college doesn't = sorority recruitment.
And to the OP - I'm pretty sure you don't know as much about house politics as you think you do. And I GUARANTEE you don't know how membership selection works (unless someone told you more than they should have).

Best of luck to you Gator*Belle as I am quite familiar with Gator recruitment and sorority life at UF. I do hope it turns out the way you are wishing for yourself.
I would never have gone around in my time saying -- "Plus it's the best house on campus with an amazing social calendar". Yikes! I am not sure what organization you are speaking of, but there are several at UF that truly have amazing social calendars. I know mine did, but to say one organization is the "best" on that campus is pretty tough to do. I would at least say "one of the best" orgs on campus.
In my time, we just kept what we thought to ourselves and between our sisters.

Anyone else remember a couple of years ago when the UF KD mom went in on everyone here because her perfect pretty princess legacy got dropped during recruitment? Ahhh ..... good times.
And yeah, I think "E" came galloping in on the same rainbow colored pony that a certain mustang riding volleyball player was riding.

OP, Seriously consider all the houses. Suiciding is the most unfortunate thing we deal with in Panhellenic at UF. It tears Pi Chis hearts apart, and a lot of girls who could do amazing things for and in a chapter they didn't originally consider - and its hard to watch year after year. Look at all the other houses and see if you can get letters for those. Letters aren't hard for PC women to do, just ask!

Wow. Someone from your school just gave you heartfelt, helpful advice, and this is your response?
Yeah, good luck, hon.

Not only is it someone from the same school, but it seems as though she might be involved with Panhellenic.

What an idiot.

Thank you, lovespink88, I am currently a sorority member at the University of Florida and currently hold a position on Panhellenic Council.
I know what I'm saying, and I'm not critisizing.
I'm merely hoping that the OP will keep herself open to the 15 other soroities and their women during Recruitment this coming Fall.
If any other future Gator Rushies have questions I am more than willing to answer.

(Lane swerve)
What a rude thing to say to someone who obviously goes to your intended school, went through a very competitive rush at said school, and was offering advice to help you, a rude PNM, have a successful recruitment.
Wow.

Hey genius, if you read what she said (not to mention her username), you'll see that she actually is what you want to be -- a member of a sorority at UF. She just might be a member of "the best house on campus with an amazing social calendar." And if she is (and maybe even if she's not), she probably can pretty easily figure out exactly who you are, "E."
So yeah, either you are stupid -- stupid with an attitude -- or you're a nut-job, mustang-riding, volleyball-playing troll.

No you did not. At least not in this thread, under this persona.

Hmm. This post you just wrote and your attitude makes me think that this isn't quite right.

Wow! Watch your tongue! If UF Recruitment is anything like Ole Miss recruitment, I have seen legacies with in-house siblings get released from their legacy house. It does happen and you should be ready for this possibility. Good luck with your recruitment process.

Legacies can and do get cut. Last year there was a fourth generation ** at an SEC school who was a pretty, sweet and smart girl. Remember you have 19 and 20 year old girls making decisions (ever seen Mean Girls?). Then sometimes the PNM gets the double whammy that some groups will cut her because they assume she will join her legacy group. I have served as a general advisor and yes, certainly they have the right to choose who they want in their organization. But, there does seem to be some meanspiritedness at gunning for a sitting sister's biological sister or some triple legacy whose mom is working in the kitchen while they cut the girl. I know a woman this happened to. These are social groups who have the right to choose their members and, conversely, a legacy should not feel bound to her legacy group. Gator's family members have told her wonderful things about their group. But she also said she is securing her recs for other groups. Good luck to Florida Gator PNM and I hope she finds a home she will cherish. If it is her legacy group, it will be a great group she can share with her family. If not, she can find her own new group.
