I went to a private Christian school from K through 8th, and we played Swaggart's school in sports so we were out there all the time. It was a really nice facility. I was in high school during his downfall, and everyone on my bus kept calling me Swaggart girl. I did have a friend who went there. She got suspended for a week for having an Amy Grant tape in her locker (pre- Baby Baby days!) Oh the horror!

i lived in tulsa for a while and could actually see the tip of the prayer tower from my kitchen window. i have 2 stories to share about oral roberts/oru.

there was some funky architecture on that campus-the prayer tower looked like something out of the "jetsons". i was driving past oral roberts university(oru) with my daughter, who was about 2 at the time, when she looked out the window toward the campus and shouted out,"disney world."

when i was pregnant with my daughter i was shopping at the same grocery store with mrs. oral roberts. her chauffeur followed her around the store as she placed things in the cart. heaven help you if you got in her way-she would just plow right over you. they exited the store a little before me and undoubtedly as i waddled to my car with my groceries, i was in their way, because i saw her directing her chauffeur to honk the horn at me(which he did), as she shooed me with her hand. they were in a rolls royce. nasty people!
