This is how they write Katherine Heigl out so she can go film a movie. Spoliers say she will be back.

Alright. I can deal with that. I was actually thinking that maybe they just hadn't wanted to kill off two major characters in one episode so they just delayed her permanent departure. This I can deal with. She can go film a movie

I thought the Katherine Heigl departure was great. There are so many ways to bring her back now, but I'm sure it will have something to do with the HR/Chief bit.

I love Hector Elizando!!! When Callie started quoting back at her dad I was so happy for her!!
Arizona's speech was wonderful.

I missed the beginning of the show. Why was Meridith in the hospital bed?

She gave part of her liver to Thatcher last week. And to cover up the last part of her pregnancy. Same thing with Izzie, she took some time off to be with her new baby.

I think the merger storyline has potential...it brings out the good and the bad in the characters we know and love (or love to hate). But, the writers have to find a way to make the new people competitive but likeable, and so far I am not digging the girl that was with Alex or the guy that was with Izzy. The black guy that was with Cristina and the diary girl with Lexie have potential...I hope they are the only two who stay.
IMO, they should have eight new characters:
- 2 attendings (one cardio, one OBGYN)
- 2 residents to replace George and Izzy
- 2 interns to interact with Lexie
- 2 nurses as background

WHEN ARE MEREDITH AND DEREK GOING TO GET MARRIED FOR REAL????? The Post-It was cute at first, but we're 6 episodes in. I need to hear some "I DOs." Or at least get that thing notarized.
Izzie.
Alex missing Izzie.
Hearing Callie's dad pronounce her middle name the Spanish way was waaaaay different than the way George pronounced it.
George's cubby.
"And by the way, I can tell." *points to nose*
Cristina crying like a 2-year-old whose daddy neglects her broke my heart. But we've only seen Cristina cry when she lost her baby and when she lost her man. Seeing her cry because she's not being "seen" made me wanna shake her a yell, "Pull it together, Yang!!!" I'm all for character development, but woooooow. And someone on FB mentioned that she sounds like a Sesame St. character when she cries...I wasn't gonna say anything about that, but that's a pretty accurate descrip.
Even though Meredith is too upbeat and "Go Team" for my taste, the way she responded to Cristina made my heart melt. They are the quintessential besties.

Dear God,
Please let Bailey convince Sam to come to Seattle Grace to be the new Cardio Attending. I know he hasn't been a surgeon in years, but he clearly still has the goods and the chief hires people out the woodwork anyway. I love a good GA/PP crossover and if I could have yummy Taye Diggs on my favorite show (and maybe give Bailey a good romance and romp in the on-call room for once in her life), I would seriously overflow with thanksgiving. Amen.

That was quite possibly one of the best episodes ever.

I love a good murder mystery. Especially when all my fave characters are involved. SPOILER: I'm psyched to be rid of a Mercy Wester, but I wish it'd at least have been one of the mean ones. I kinda liked her.
ETA: Okay, is anyone watching PP? Tracie Thoms is guest starring and she's the third cast member from the movie version RENT to have a role on PP. I'm not sure if I'm the only one who notices that, but I think it's kinda cool.

I loved it too. It was a great shake up from the "same ole, same ole". When it first started, I was like "What did I miss? I don't remember how the last show ended!", thinking that it was a continuation...lol. I was relieved that my memory wasn't that bad after all! I very much enjoyed it but was sad to see the one who went leave. I liked her best of all of them.
I found Christina's reaction at the end particularly interesting. Her speech was great but it wasn't what I expected to hear from Christina. It seemed more like a Lexie or Izzy kind of speech to me.
Oh Alex, poor, poor Alex.
