Round one is over! It was definitly fast paced and exsauhsting but absolutly amazing at the same time. I loved meeting all the different chapter women and where I could see myself.

Silver- Loved this house. I got to talk to four women all of whom seem down to earth. The house itself is so cute and we got to see the rooms upstairs that were absolutely adorable.

Yellow- The woman who rushed me was really nice and we had some friends in common however I didn't feel entirely at ease at this house. It may be due to the fact that it was so loud in there, definitly the loudest out of all of them it was very hard to hear!

Magenta - Gorgeous house filled with gorgeous women. I had a pretty good conversation here but there were some gaps in the conversation. I feel like this is a house where I would feel the need to always look perfect however I really did love their philanthropy.

Forrest Green- This is another beautiful house. I had a good conversation her and their skit was really cute. Love this philanthropy as well.

Lime green- loved this house too! It started raining while we were lined up outside and the poor girls had to come out in the rain to get each of us! The girl I talked to was an absolute sweetheart and I have a friend in this house who absolutely loves her sisters!

Gray - This house I talked to two girls, the first was really hard to talk to but the second was so easy! I'm also unsure if I can see myself here.

Brick red- I also know a girl in this house. The women here seem super intelligent and like they have a great sisterhood.

Red - This was one of my favorite conversations. The girl was so easy to talk to and we got to talk about more than the standard questions that we are usually asked. The house is gorgeous and the girl that I know here absolutely loves it!

So I had to narrow it down from 16 to 11 and then rank my five alternates. My alternates were
1. Baby Blue
2. Brick Red
3. Yellow
4. Orange
5. Gray

I am so anxious to see what my schedule is tomorrow. I am hoping to get a lot of sleep tonight I have to be up at 5 am! !

So today was an emotional roller-coaster to say the least! I was only invited back to 6 of the chapters, most of which were ones that I didn't initially feel a strong connection with. I was invited back to:
Brown
Pink
Baby Blue
Forrest Green
Gray
Brick Red

I was cut from:
Teal
Navy Blue
Purple
Black
Orange
Silver
Yellow
Magenta
Lime Green (sorry twinkle555)
Red

The cut that was the worse for me to handle was purple since I know so many of the girls and one of my friends rushed me! It also didn't help that almost everyone got asked back here. But eventually (after half the day had passed) I realized I needed to move on!

SO.....

Gray: I had a pretty good conversation but I felt like I had to work really hard for it. While this house is great and has an amazing philanthropy I still don't feel at home here.

Brick Red: Talked to two girls here both pretty good flowing conversations. This house is a possibility for me.

Pink: While I love this house and have had some good conversations I can't help but feel like something is missing here but I am still looking forward to learning more about them.

Then I had lunch and was honestly considering leaving. I was still caught up on purple and was in a real funk however with encouragement from one of my friends who rushed last year and dropped (and now regrets it) I decided to stick it out and I am really glad that I did!

Brown- This is one of the biggest shocks to me thus far, I had no idea how much I would LOVE this house. The girls are so down to earth and easy to talk to, I love their philanthropy, and their house is gorgeous! Definitly hoping to be invited back.

Baby Blue- Had 2 really good conversations here, I'm still unsure weather I can truly see myself here but I do really like the house.

Forrest Green- So yesterday I was kind of iffy about this house, I have made a complete 180! I LOVE IT! The girls are so pretty and sweet and their philanthropy is so amazing. I also definitly want an invite here too!

So we had to pick top 7 and since I only had 6 I wrote them all down. I hope tomorrow goes really well!!!!!

Have a great rest of recruitment! Keep a totally open mind and try and stay with it. I promise - it's worth it.

I regret to inform you all that I withdrew from recruitment today. I was only asked back to Gray. I tried to keep an open mind and went to the video round and it just didn't feel right. It was tough, definitly shed some tears and was a little angry but I know everything happens for a reason and I have amazing friends who truly care about me and want to be in my life and this experience has made me appreciate them more than anything! Sorry it wasn't a fairy-tale ending but it happens.

I'm so sorry to hear that things didn't work out for you. It doesn't seem like you had a truly bad time at Gray at the other rounds, so I was surprised to hear you would rather not be Greek at all than join that house... but of course, it was your decision and I'm sure it was not made lightly. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful college experience nonetheless, and good luck to you!

I always feel bad when pnm's withdraw instead of trying to stick it out, as you do only get to base your opinions off a very short period of time. But it's your decision and I'm sure you feel you made the right one. I don't know if your school does COR/COB but if they do and you are still interested in greek life you should sign up for the activities that the different houses hold.

I think most chapters at this school do meet total after formal recruitment, but there MAY be a rare opportunity for COB at a couple chapters. Maybe.
