When I think of Brat Pack movies, I also think of St. Elmos Fire and then later Less Than Zero. Then the bad ones like Oxford Blues and Young Guns...

This reminds me of that episode of Friends where Phoebe refuses to go to the dentist because every time she does, someone who she knows dies. 
I must admit that when one of my friends first told me "John Hughes died," I felt like I should know who she was talking about, but it didn't click... until she mentioned two of his movies, and then I remembered.
