Seriously, how lame is it that I am probably more excited about this than most of my teen students?

The math teacher at school and I are the same way. I'm debating about making a countdown on my wall upon return to school next year.

Same here! However, I don't know if I will see it on opening night as I don't want to see all my female students again!

I'm watching The Messengers on Lifetime. Kristen Stewart was much better in this. Supposedly, she intentionally makes Bella so awkward. Maybe I'll be convinced with New Moon.

They had "Catch the Kid" on last weekend, and granted she was probably 13 or 14 and in those "awkward" years in real life when it was filmed, but she was about the same as Bella, only 12 instead of 17.

BUMP!
Movie is out!
I'm going to see it Sunday with the husband. We're going to a theater that's got reserved seating, and it's two days after it opens, so I'm hoping to avoid the madness.

haha. I'll see it either tonight or tomorrow afternoon. I didn't change my facebook status to reflect that I'm on team Edward.

I saw it last night at the midnight showing and I must say, I enjoyed it quite a bit. However I also had the excuse of "oh well midnight showings are a fun college thing to do" and "I'm a young woman". So. The audience at the midnight showing was mainly girls and women of the ages of 12-22. There were a few women above that age range, and I'd say about 15-20 men total. It ran 2 hours and 20 minutes and I'd say that if nothing else, you get your money's worth. I've read all the books and from what I remember it's pretty accurate to them. I liked the way they did some parts, but not others. (I don't want to give much away since I know not that many people have seen it).
So that's my generic review of the movie. I'd say, if you think you want to see it, just do it because it's worth the ticket price (IMHO). Tell me what you thought when you go to see it.

I appreciate that - thanks!
I went into the first one expecting to be disappointed, which I think helped, since it turned out to be not bad (I'm not going to say it's wonderful - it's a good summary). I'll probably go into this one a little more excited, but still not expecting it to be stunning and hope that' I'm pleasantly surprised again.

The acting was pretty bad during some scenes. There were a lot of youngsters at tonight's showing, too. Two girls aged 13 or so gave away a couple of things after Edward's last line. I've read the books, but it wasn't fair for anyone who didn't want to hear it.

There was a big group of us that went to the midnight showing as a sisterhood thing. I feel as though it was better than the first, or at least Edward's acting has gotten better (or better directed?). I also liked that we saw more of the Cullen family, but that might be because I like the brother's parts in the books.
I laughed through out the whole first movie because it was awkward and had such bad acting (in my opinion), but this one it was only at certain parts, so overall much better. However, I would like to shave off Kristen Stewart's eyebrows because of the weird faces she makes.
