I went to the law school at WUSTL and I live in the area. Would it be okay if I went to the presentation? Or would it be weird and annoying? I'd like to see it.

KDCat - I would be sure to get in touch with the St. Louis AC or the Alumnae NLT for MO (which is Division 7). They would be able to tell you how appropriate it would be for alumnae to attend this particular presentation (as expansion presentations are all different). However, it is WONDERFUL that you are so interested in learning more about the presentation! All Kappa Delta chapters need supportive alumnae in their areas, especially those who are willing to support new chapters as CAB, HC, and other support.

I contacted the sister organizing and she said that she can only bring a certain number of alumnae due to space reasons. We chatted a bit and she'll let me know.
Nationals sent around a volunteer form by email this week. I'm going to fill it out and turn it in.

The colonization presentation at Washington University in St. Louis went very well last night. The presentation team did a great job. There were a lot of nodding heads in the Panhel audience. I think they really like our national philanthropies and I think they really liked the chapter development plan that was presented. We had a good number alums who were there and they reported a good amount of alum support (50 women have expressed interest in being on CAB.) About 20 ladies from St. Louis University attended and several women from the SLU CAB attended.
I was surprised by how long this colonization process is going to be. They're choosing a chapter now, but recruitment and colonization weekend won't be until Spring 2013. (WUSTL has deferred recruitment in January.)
Keep your fingers crossed!

It's not confirmed yet, but a St. Louis alumna told me that KD will be colonizing at Washington University in St. Louis. WUSTL Panhel voted yesterday.

That is awesome news, WashU is a great school. I am glad to know it is 2013 and not 14. I am thrilled about university of San Diego, too.

WUSTL Panhel's vote was unanimous.
KD will recruit in the spring of 2013. WUSTL has January recruitment. Nationals plans to observe recruitment next month. Nationals will send two CDCs to live full time on campus during the fall, prior to recruitment to meet potential new members. They'll start recruiting and training CAB before recruitment. WUSTL sororities don't have houses, so no House Corp.
I'm excited about San Diego, too.

WCSweet: If you don't mind me asking, who was the woman from your chapter who helped with BU's colonization? My chapter was involved in the process and I'm curious to know if I met her.

Possible presentation at at Dayton
Did anyone else in SW Ohio get the email today about the possibility of presenting for expansion at at university of Dayton? They are assessing alumni strength and asking about ability to serve on advisory boards, etc if they decide to present.
I have to say, I've got mixed feelings a bit. I love to see Kappa Delta expand, but SW Ohio is pretty saturated with UC, NKU, Wilmington College, Miami, Wittenberg and Wright State. If they colonize at UD, that would be 5 chapters in a 30 -40 mile radius, not to mention the 2 large chapters in greater Cincinnati. We have active alum groups in Cinci and Dayton, but that's a lot to support. It seems as if they are often sending out a call for advisors. Miami and Wilmington (and Springfield for that matter) are a bit off the beaten track for meetings if you live in the Cincinnati region and Dayton is not a large city. Of course, the more chapters you have the more alums you have, so maybe it's not an issue. I do love the idea of expanding nearby. SW Ohio is becoming KD Central!
I loved being an advisor, so any of you who are considering it....you won't regret it!
