I hate when sh*t's goin on, and no one mentions it to me. My last job it felt like all the junior people were on the same team. Now, I feel like I need to watch my back around them b/c there's no "team" mentality. It sucks.

I also hate when mandatory work seminars are scheduled at times when I have sorority functions. Some of us have a life out side of the office. Also, don't ask me on Friday to work on something all weekend long to have it ready by Monday. You don't pay me that much....By Friday I have my weekend planned, even if that plan involves me, the recliner, cable and something fattening.

I have soo many that I may run out of room, but I will list them in no particular order:

1. People who stand at my desk when they see me on the phone

2. People who clearly do less than me and get paid more than me

3. Going into work feeling like I'm back at high school... i.e., the two chicks on my team who are the oldest act like they are 16!

4. People who do not understand what Business Casual means

5. My company thinks giving us a 10% discount on clothes at Brooks Brothers is beneficial

6. Adults who just whine and complain ALL day!!

Is that enough??????????

Ever feel like you're ready to go home as soon as you crank up your car...in your driveway...on the way to work? That's the general atmosphere at my job. But I'm leaving in the very near future, so it's cool.

Co-workers: People that sit around and either stir up drama or keep it going by forever gossiping about everyone. You're ruining my concentration on the job, and the atmosphere is negatively charged. Thanks! You add a lot to the workplace.

Also, those people that can't do their jobs to save their lives, but they want to slow down your progress by constantly asking for your help. Can you retain any information that you're given? Throw me a friggin bone here. Extra irk points for having the gall to question my answer when you were looking for an answer. If you have all the answers, then why are you in my periphery?

Supervisors/Management: Bosses that don't have the cajones to make decisions, enforce rules, or issue write-ups/have a conference/etc. You're paid a salary for a reason, and it is not limited to your ablility to generate reports or delegate. If you can't speak to your employees about what your expectations for their job performance or you can't reprimand the regular offenders, you do not have the respect of your team. (True story happening to me right now. That's why a sista is about to be out!)

Thumbs up I know how this person feels

This is how we all feel at times!

Thought some of you would love/relate to this one .

You know, sometimes I hate working in corporate America. Why? Because of the damn cubes. Cubes have to be the worst thing created in the workplace. No privacy !

*People looking over your shoulder.

*All your phone business being heard by the world.

And what's up with people that walk by as slow as they possibly damn can, to see what website your surfing instead of working?

I hate that......You really want to see me go postal?

Hover by my cube too long......... You may get cussed out.

It's my cube !

Don't just bust up in there unannounced. Knock on the wall !

Stick your head around the corner to see if I'm busy.

Announce your presence ! Don''t just stroll in because you don't see a door.

It's my cube !

Don't walk past and ask me who are all the pretty people in my pictures that decorate my desk.

First of all, I don't have any ugly friends.

Second of all, I don't have any ugly family.

Third of all, what the hell are you doing lolly-gagging around my cube long enough to look at all the pictures that I have anyway?

Don't slow your roll at my cube, speed it up.

It's my cube !

Don't ask me where I got my plants from, my mirror from or my motivational prints from. That means you've been standing there too long, you better keep on walking. In fact, why don't you walk your A$$ to the nearest Garden Ridge, IKEA or Target? You wanna see decorations? Go to the damn store!

It's my cube !

If you see me on the phone, don't come in. Don't sit in my vacant chair until I'm done talking on the phone. What makes you think I want you to know all my personal business? I haven't summoned you.I haven't invited you to take a seat. I haven't asked you to laugh along with me at the jokes I tell my friends on the other line.

We don't need to correspond in person. That's what an in-box was created for. You wanna talk to me?

*Send me an e-mail.

You got work for me to see? Drop it off in the in box OUTSIDE of my cube. Damn, it ain't hanging there for decoration!

It's my cube !

*Don't listen for noises from my cube that announce whether I'm arriving or leaving.

Damn, I hate that !

*When I get here in the morning, I get here. I don't need you to say GOOD MORNING! loud enough so that the whole department can hear. Why do they need to know that I got here at 8:05, not 8:00? Oh and when I get ready to leave, I'm gone. If you hear me taking my purse out of the draw or zipping up my bag, I don't need you to say GOODBYE ! loud enough so that the whole department can hear you announce my departure at 4:45 and not 5:00.

Damn, I hate that!

It's my cube !

Don't think because I have staples, pens and notepads, that means you borrow some, I said no the first time.

If I say I don't have any, don't walk by to check and see if I'm lying.......I am !

I just don't want you to have it. Do like I did. Walk your A$$ down the hall to the big supply room and get you some things. What do I look like, Office Max?

It's my cube !

R-E-S-P-E-C-T IT!!!!

People who move stuff in my office and don't put it back!!! I understand that you may need to use my computer or look in my file cabinet for a kid's folder but when you are done with that, LEAVE!!! Also:

1. Turn my lights off.

2. Turn my computer off.

3. Leave my picture of Dennis ALONE!!! Admire him on the wall. You don't need to see him up close.

4. If you take candy from my candy drawer and you know I'm about to run out, leave me a note. I hate coming to work and having a taste for something and it's not there.

5. The stuffed animals are not for you. They are for the children. Leave my animals alone.

HOLLA!! My coworkers have heard me complain numerous times about this. In fact, they now leave money in place of the candy they eat!!

Angry

I am SOOOO glad this thread came back up.

I work in the Bio Department at my alma mater...and I work with a lot of people who have Ph.D's. So you'd think they were smart, but NO.

My two pet peeves right now concern the copiers (we have 2). They are code-operated so everybody has a code to put in. At least 20 times a day, I gotta help people put in a 4 digit number and press "Enter" for them...if they put in the wrong code too many times the machine will lock up and I gotta reboot it...

And these people get mad at me when they have to wait for the copier to come back on! You tore it up, so you wait!! It got so bad yesterday, the machine's memory got overloaded due to people putting in their jobs over and over and over...and the machine just locked up. Now there's a big "OUT OF ORDER" sign on it and of course, they all come to me saying "did you know the copier doesn't work?" HELLO!!! I put the dayum sign on the thing! Or when the copier DOES work, they can't do simple things like making a one-sided document double-sided...*sigh*

Now that means people have to use the other copier in the back, which they hate because it's a big monster of a thing. And I already know that at least 50 times today, I gotta get up and put the codes in for 'em. Even as I am typing this, I hear one of the professors sighing extra loud. Now he's calling me.

I can't stand when co-workers make comments on what time I CAME TO MY SEAT. Not knowing that I had business to take care of concerning my job in another building. Building 200 is a pretty far from building 15, so get off my back. But I'm still trying to figure out why my CO-WORKERS are all up in mine. My manager is in the know and that is all that matters. I swear it's a doggy dogg world.

Or when a group member suggests a new "project" for you. Which consists of some type of administrative work, which would not be a big deal if you were that persons administrative aide. Then the project has the nerve to be some redo of something the company is already using. The description given for the project is not logical and was some brainchild of an individual who cannot articulate it at all, let alone produce it him/herself. Just use the procedure the company has been using and stop being so doggone particular! Sheesh!

When a co-worker feels they need to announce their whereabouts each and everytime they leave their desk. Ex: I am going to the restroom to pee! I am going to the breakroom. I am going to chat with so and so... the list goes on...Just go!

I just can't get over people that want to argue with you and make it like they know everything or remember everything, but then turn around and say you have to me because you know I don't remember.

I don't like when a supervisor lets a staff member dictate and tell them how to do their job. For some reason this always hurts everyone else in the office.

It annoys me to no end when I put out the work schedule a month early then on the day that you have to work you want to first call me instead of looking for someone else to switch work shifts with. Hello, there is a reason the schedule was out a entire month early & before you come crying to me can you please ask one of your co-workers, it's call team work.

Ok I feel a little bit better now Lol

A work pet peeve is when some person decides that they are going to bring in leftover fish for their lunch & then decide to use the microwave so now the entire office smells like fish. It's disgusting. I had a nice spaghetti lunch that is making me nauseous from smelling that stinky fish. This is disgusting.

Eat fish at home or in your car. Don't stink up the office for everyone else.
