^^^I'm only responding to this in the event that a non-Greek out there has a similar question. I get the feeling that the poster is not for real.
Membership in a fraternity is for life -- membership in a pledge club is not.
"Eternal" is just a saying -- it doesn't mean you really get the rights and privileges of being in that pledge club for life. People who dropped (or were dropped) are often considered "eternal" because they would never gain membership, not because they will just stay a pledge forever.
Not to mention pledging is no longer a recognized part of the NPHC member organizations' intake programs.

i am for real, but that's irrelevant because i or anybody else could be anyone with this being a public message board and all. this seems to be the most logical answer i've read so far. as far as not ever gaining membership, i've seen guys drop and then try again, so i don't agree there. thanks for your help.

The article I posted in Kappa Korner blew me away when I saw the 50 year old sweater that was handed down.

Aw man..when I was on line, my ball koach at the time was a Nupe and also happened to be a 3 Klub. I had to kall him every third hour on the third day of each week. Yea I'm thankful for him too. Some days when I was absolutely out of it during practice, he understood why

Nupes, have you ever worn too much? You brothers don't even want to know what I wore to this amusement park when I was neo. I thought I was smooth then, but looking back on it, I looked like the damnest fool that ever walked the planet. How could I?

Agreed. One is enough unless you're at your chapter's event. Even then you gotta be subtle.
