I'm Tivo'ing, so I'm behind, but I just saw the MacGyver ad... very nice. I never really watched MacGyver, but I'm a Stargate SG-1 fan. When we saw the ad, my husband's first comment was, "It's Jack!"
|
And it was on a Stargate fan site that I found out about the MacGyver commercial. They probably couldn't do it as Gen. Jack because in the grander scheme of things more people know MacGyver than Stargate! Ah well, we still got to see Richard Dean Anderson (on a side note, SG1 has signed for a 10th season making it the longest running sci fi series ever since X-files only did 9 seasons - and the 200th episode is supposed to be GREAT - possibly meeting the Furlings! LOL)

That's my favorite one too.
Oh another one I like was the stadium audience with the signs where they show the beer bottle, glass, then the signs change to pouring beer, then drinking with all the audience saying "ahhhh".

I know. I hate that thing. We all thought that commercial was lame at first, but what was really awesome was that towards the end they referred to him as "the freaky King" in that little song they were singing--everybody at the party I went to just cracked up! So we gave that one the thumbs up!

The Fed-Ex cavemen was the most memorable.
Honorable mentions:
- Streaking sheep (Bud)
- Baby clydesdale (Bud)
- Hospital fly (Ameriquest)
- Rehearsed Dinsey speech (Disney)

I don't think the commercials were great this year but they were better than last year. My favorites:
- The baby clydesdale with the parents pushing the wagon. I thought it was touching.
- The Ameriquest one where the lady fell on the guy during turbelance and it looked like they were performing some porn scene.
- The Bud Light commercial with the revolving refridgerator. I was cracking up.

Good Morning America called this one the best, and looking back, I would probably agree.
They feel that the Clydsedales are overdone, to which I don't agree.

Oh yeah! That was a big favorite at the party I was at. The one with the cards was really good too. And the baby Clydesdale. Budweiser did some outstanding work this year.

I liked the revolving fridge and the Caree Builder commercials. Of course, any commercial with the King is a winner as well...

The burger king one, hands down. The World Baseball Classic one was freaky, IMO

I wasn't impressed. Nothing was as good as the herding cats commercial -- anybody remember that one?
The commercial for that really horrible looking movie about a guy who turns into a dog was funny, though -- with Chris Berman doing the commentary. AND HE COULD GO ALL THE WAY... I love Chris Berman, so that made me laugh.

They've been using that campaign in magazines and publications for a month or two, at least. I was surprised they just put it straight to television, as the concept came over as dark and foreboding more than anything else.

I liked the FedEx commercial, and the Careerbuilder one made me laugh.
The Sprint one was the funniest to me.

The wife & daughter stand in the doorway, shocked.
