This article says it is a mold that was detected in the yogurt, that it should not grow unless kept unrefrigerated and it should not cause health problems in most people. I wonder if that man's child has a mold allergy? Or is just sick from something else.

Yeah, I had a four pack of the vanilla from that plant- I ate 3 out of 4,because I bought them almost two weeks ago. I noticed it tasted off, but I hadn't bought Chobani for a while (been with cheaper stuff), so I figured it was just that. Note to self: if it reminds you of the taste of rising bread dough and isn't dough, don't eat it.

I didn't get sick, except for one evening of um, well, gastrointestinal distress, which I didn't attribute to the yogurt until now. But the one remaining container I just threw away was visibly bloated and had broken the lid seal, and my yogurt was only unrefrigerated from the time I pulled it from the case at the store until I got home.

Checked when I got home. Ours was one of the recalled lots. I am never going to get that child to stop eating that sugary Gogurt crap now.

I LOVE Greek yogurt and eat it every day. The extra protein is worth the calories. Just some suggestions...

The 2% plain Fage is fabulous, but I grew up eating home made yogurt that tasted like that. YMMV. I find the non fat is really, really sour & I cannot stand it. Might substitute for sour cream.

Greek Gods yogurt is really, really yummy. I usually eat plain or honey flavored yogurt with a spoon of cherry preserves or no-sugar fruit jam on top. Delish!

And if you want a yogurt that is as sinful as ice cream and just as good, check out Noosa. It is addictive & amazing! Peach and strawberry-rhubarb flavors are my favorites. They makes lots of flavors. the fruit is a dollop at the bottom, not mixed through. Definitely worth the calories as an occasional treat.

Hmm, I find this interesting. I remember a few times last year getting some Chobani yogurt and it seeming a little funny to me. I figured it was probably just how the yogurt was so I brushed it off. I guess I will be trying some other Greek yogurt. I actually like it. It was an acquired taste for me. I believe I've had some Oikos yogurt by Dannon. It was pretty good and only a dollar. Haha.

I only use Greek yogurt in cooking, I find I can't stand the sour aftertaste when eating it plain--but for substitutions for cream/sour cream? Perfect

Oikos is fake greek yogurt.

ETA: I take that back. Oikos is real, but has thickeners when flavored. Yoplait, Lucerne and Cabot ARE fake. They rely on chemical thickeners rather than straining the yogurt to get the correct consistency. It's an expensive, time consuming technique.

Lovelovelove Greek yogurt. Eat is for breakfast a lot with some fruit or sugarfree muesli. I don't like honey so I"ll east it plain most of the time. I think the fruit flavors are usually very chemical tasting or sugary, and the vanilla one is just... yuck.
I'll stick to the natural one.

Oh, this is interesting to know! This is what's so difficult about wanting to eat healthy: so many imitations. I've been trying to change my diet to be more healthy so I'm going to have to find a real quality Greek yogurt!
