I was absolutely SURE that this week's epsiode would be a NEL...what about you?
Definitely had goosebumps while watching the tape of the episode.

I was too. I can't remember them going this long without one in a while.
Reality News Online is reporting that the Shroeders lost everything in Katrina. Their house is currently down to the studs, ready to be rebuilt. They said this: "We connected with all of the teams with the exception of the Weavers. We speak to all of them on a regular basis and they’ve been incredibly generous in our time of need."
Interesting, I thought.
ETA this from the CbS Early Show website:
But for two weeks, Mark said, the Rogers family offered their house and took care of them. "They were extremely wonderful."
"They're without a doubt the most amazing people," Stassi said.
Char added: "All the families from the 'Race' put together gifts, cards. Some gave us checks, clothes, and a little man from the Rogers' church drove all of that down to us at Baton Rouge."

I'll miss the little kids.
And that other family is making a mockery of prayer - God will strike them soon.
I sense the obnoxious sons are starting to get a little respect for their hard-working mother (of course, she's border-line obnoxious herself)

I missed the very very first episode. Bring me up to speed on the Weaver family. Their father died while car-racing, yes? How recently before the Amazing Race? Was it within a year or two? Just wondering.
Danke.

I didn't see the first episode, but I can tell you what happened.
Linda's husband Roy worked @ the Daytona Speedway. He wasn't a driver - I believe he was part of the maintenence crew. He was hit by one of the cars. This happened about 2-3 years ago..?

I was NOT surprised tonight was a NEL - the way all the teams were talking about how it was, I just knew CBS would be throwing us off with it.
Being honest here, I'm sure the Weavers' are a great family outside of the race, yet I feel that the way they are being portrayed on TV is rubbing me the wrong way. I try to remember it's editing, but I really cannot stand watching them and was praying it was an EL this week.

I have had a hard time watching the entire show. Now as much fun as the ones in the past. Since I am only half way paying attention, I did not see the Weavers toss an apple at anyone.
I do think that the Godlewskis and Linzs might shoot themselves in the foot sometime. They are concentrating so hard on hating the Weavers, that they are opening themselves up to make some really fatal mistakes. The Weavers know they are hated, they have nothing to loose at this point so they have the motivation now to really push by the other teams.
I love the Bransen's who are letting everyone else go after each other and they are just sitting back and watching. Personally, I hope the Bransen's take it all.

"When is this leg gonna end?!?!.."
If you can't handle the neverending legs of the race, kiddies, you shouldn't have applied for the race - there are another 6 other teams who would probably be THRILLED to still be racing like you are.
What is with these "production problems" the past two weeks - I know it's the luck of the draw, but why does it always happen to the teams I like???
So, we shall see what happens next week - all I can say is that if the Linzes or Bransens are eliminated next, I'll stop watching
(no, not really )

I missed the last 10 minutes. I saw the beginning of the cattle round up. The first 2 teams had started the Roadblock. What happened after that?
Thanks

**IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE EPISODE YET OR DO NOT WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED IN DETAIL, PLEASE SKIP THIS POST
The Bransens and Weavers finished the roadblock (the cattle driving) and were told to head to Old Faithful, where they must see it erupt. The Weavers made it *just* in time to see it erupt with the Bransens, and those two teams were sent off to "go find Phil" (which would logically make you think it's another infamous 'continuation' legs, right?). At the same time, the Godlewskis *just* missed seeing the Geyser erupt, so they had to wait for the next eruption, allowing the Linzes to catch up to them. There was speculation in the Linzes' car after seeing Old Faithful erupt about what the clue meant, since there was no mention of a Pit stop with Phil...there was a footrace between the Bransens and the Weavers to get to Phil first, with the Bransens edging them out, and Phil told them they were the first two teams to find them, but that he was there to give them their next clue (therefore, my discussion in my last post )
I think that's everything - did I miss something?

[Random hijack]
Last night, I dreamt that I was in TAR on the Weaver's team - I had replaced the blonde girl (Rachel?)
Part of me was wondering if it was a mini-nightmare?

First question: Who's still watching?
Second question: Anyone surprised the Weavers' are in the finals (along with the Bransens and the Linzes)?
Third question: Who do you think will win?

1. Yeah, I am still watching. It is such a brainless show it is a great one to have one while I am quilting
2) No, not surprised that the Weavers are still in it. They know they are hated and that gives them more of an incentive to continue fighting
4. Don't know WHO will win, but I really hoping that the Bransens take it all.
