If we could get Kansas State too, that would make a good run of the BIG 12 schools and also strengthen Alpha Phi in that part of the country. With Nebraska to the north, Missouri to the east, Boulder to the West, and Oklahoma to the South ... too words ... NI-CE

Don't forget Texas and Texas Tech down here for the BIG XII!
We're halfway there (and with some pretty nice websites, too! )
Colorado
Missouri
Nebraska
Texas
Texas Tech
Oklahoma
Iowa State (recolonize Zeta Delta)
Kansas (recolonize Gamma Delta)
Texas A&M (recolonize Epsilon Omega)
Baylor
Kansas State
Oklahoma State

Oh, THAT'S where you're from! I always keep forgetting to ask you that.
You know, I was going to say K-State too because their panhellenic system is HUGE but I don't know, I think Manhattan might be a little off the beaten path. Everything west of Topeka on 70 gets no respect.
How about Fort Hays State for a new small campus???
Okay yeah, now I'm REALLY reaching!

Yes ma'am you really are! I think it would be a shorter distance for me to drive from KC to the OU installation than it would be for Fort Hays. KU expansion would be fabulous. That is about 20 to 30 minutes from me and Lawrence is a great place. KState,I really couldn't say much about.I had an employee a few years ago that was a Kappa there but beyond that I personally know very little about their system. We're so close to Lawrence here that it is all about KU.All I remember her saying is that they have guaranteed placement.

I don't think Fort Hays is really a viable school that Alpha Phi should be interested in. Just not the type of campus where I see us having a chapter. K-State has an excellent system. Many of my friends from HS went there and loved it. KU is a bit more upscale. K-State is an ag-school and so it's a little more laid back. But, the Greek system is very competitive. Would be a great place for Alpha Phi, I think. I would like us to be stronger in Kansas in general.

Sorry to barge in, but a lot of us at Elon were truly impressed by both presentations Alpha Phi gave at Elon. I'm hoping they have a chapter of Alpha Phi there soon!

Yeah I know I was just being silly with the Fort Hays dream. I lived in Hays for a year after college so it just has a soft spot in my heart. The houses that are there are very well established and I don't think that's a growing system. It would be like going back to Oshkosh or Stevens Point.
KState though...ag AND engineering. Holy smokes, HUGE engineering school. If ocean and astroaphi took a detour west, they'd have gone to KState I'm sure! KState's greek system is HUGE too....24 fraternities and 11 sororities. Do I hear 12 anyone????

I'm afraid I was looking a bit further west... somewhere around Pasedena.
I'm also a Husker fan so I don't know if I would have survived K-State. haha.

oh i know yall were.....i was really shocked when i heard we didnt get it but at the same time it doesnt really surprise me in the least. when you look at the interest groups and realize most of them are southern sorority legacies, you just kind of know that the school will pull for a southern chapter

What about Canada????
Couldn't we colonize at U of A? There is a strong greek system there and it would be great to have another Canadian chapter close to UBC.
Or heck - what about going even more international and colonize somewhere in another country!
nothing big was every achieved without big dreams & big risks!
Sorry guys - I'm just a big loyal Canadian here!

Pardon the crash. Zeta Zeta Chapter was chartered at Murray State University (Kentucky) in 1977 or '78. I'm not sure when they closed (late 1980s?) but they took that campus by storm when they came on.

I would love to see us at UVM. I just got back from Burlington, and it's my favorite city ever. Granted, it's spring and there isn't 5 feet of snow on the ground, so it's easier to love. But the city is right next to campus, and the lake it right next to the city. It's really small but has a ton of nice restaurants and shopping, and it seems like a great place to go to school. I'd drive the 3+ hours there once a week to help us colonize! Since the campus just lost a sorority, maybe they'll open up soon. I'm crossing my fingers!

Actually, I'd love to see another chapter in Canada too, preferably one that's relatively close to the women at UBC. I know there's a local at U of Alberta that calls themselves "Alpha Psi" - all they'd have to do is change one letter!
