Another week is beginning and it is another week closer to sorority recruitment at…..Sorry folks, I’m still going to stay mum on the school my daughter will be going through recruitment at
We have finalized all her clothing options. We are very happy with all of her selections. For set one she will be wearing a pair of J Crew shorts. She picked the 3” chino short that we picked up on the clearance rack for $16! They have really good coverage and look polished. For set 2 she is wearing a navy blue eyelet skirt from the J Crew factory store. She will be pairing that with a fun shirt and a statement necklace. J Crew is a good fit for my d. She has more of a women’s body being 6’ tall and it always a challenge to find things that look long enough on her. It doesn’t help that she has legs from here to there either. For set 3 we are going with white the lace dress that I talked about earlier in the OP. We re-tried it on and it just looks fab on her. Our solution, because it was a tad too short, was to take out the hem and re hem it with a very minimal hem. That did the trick. She will be pairing this with gold and white bracelets. It does have a little bit of a 60’s vintage feel to it and she has a darling white vintage bracelet that she is going to pair with some others. On her feet for all 3 days will be sandals. For Preference, we actually brought her a new dress. We were out of the country and stumbled across a Zara. We found the cutest dress that was really flattering on my daughter. It is just perfect and fits the description of what to wear perfectly. It is also not available in the US so we are pretty sure no one else will have the same dress. She will bring out the 4” wedges so if you see that tall, cute girl walking through the door at preference looking like a million bucks you have spotted my girl
Of the clothing that she is wearing the only thing we bought specifically for recruitment was the Preference dress. All the other items were bought with dual purposes. The lace dress was worn for a HS dance and graduation. The navy eyelet skirt was worn at her graduation party. The reason why I’m telling you this information is because I believe so many people go out and purchase an entire wardrobe for recruitment. Most girls should be able to participate in recruitment with items currently in their closet or with minimum fill in items. During her senior year whenever we were shopping for things we always kept sorority recruitment in the back of our minds.
I did get a heads up from someone in the know that the clothing they list on the Pan site is not entirely accurate. The women dress up a lot more then what the pictures and descriptions show. This information was very helpful for us.
