My daughter will be going through recruitment at Auburn! I was not in a sorority, so this whole process of securing recommendations has been an interesting experience for us. I have lurked on Greek Chat for a while trying to learn everything possible from you ladies. Thank you all so much for your providing so much invaluable information!

rahAU5, you may have seen above that my daughter is also going through recruitment at Auburn, so it looks like we're in this together. I am in a GLO, but my "rush" was so long ago and things have changed so much since then that I don't really have an advantage when it comes to helping her get recs and letters. WAR EAGLE to you and a belated WAR EAGLE back atcha, carnation!

War Eagle! I'm glad to know there is another Auburn mom here! I am excited and nervous for my daughter at the same time. With help and advice from a few hometown ladies she has recommendations for all but one of the chapters at Auburn. We just didn't have anyone in our community nor neighboring communities that was a member of that particular GLO. Yikes! Of course, I worry that she will fall in love with this sorority and not have a recommendation on file. I hope that if that is the case they will love her as well and secure a recommendation for her. At this point ... it is what it is. I'm sure we will need to encourage one another as our girls go through this process.

My daughter had 16 of 17 as well, but just secured #17. Whew! Rah, if you'll send me a pm and let me know your hometown and which one you need, I'll see if I can help. If it happens to be my chapter, I can at least put you in touch with the right person.

I can't wait to hear the upcoming recruitment stories!

There is a very small, minute possibility that the daughter of my office-mate will go through recruitment at Vanderbilt this winter. He is an Alpha Phi Alpha, and she received a scholarship from one of the Divine 9 Sororities. But she's expressed an interest in NPC sororities as well. I've told both of them if she decides to go the NPC route, I will try my hardest to help her secure recs to all of the groups at Vandy!

I'm also the first to 'go greek'- my cousin and I (who are both class of 2012/2016) are the first in my family to go to university, too! I'm rushing this fall at UAkron.

My daughter is rushing at Auburn in the fall. My sister and I are the only members of our family to ever go to college and neither of us were in a sorority. This is so overwhelming. She currently has recs for only nine of the 17. She and I have reached out to church members, friends, friends of friends, teachers, etc. but she is going to keep trying. It seems most people we know were members of just three sororities.
