We don't have a quota on our campus because we're the only sorority, so we don't have to compete. We have around 30 girls right now (not including the new members), our goal is to bring our chapter up to 40 girls. We're really small, yes, and it's a long and complicated issue. But I think we can totally bring our chapter up to 40.

Thanks everyone,

PPL,

Emily

That's kind of neat. You can HONESTLY say you ALWAYS get the top pledge class on campus!

We're having a COB party on tuesday so I hope we get some more girls out. We're advertising, and word of mouth helps. We now have business cards, so we hand them out to girls we see around campus, and off campus (even though we're not supposed to hand them out on campus because that's soliciting...but I don't think there is anyone from my shitty CSA on this board and if there are, well I think they suck and I didn't vote for any of them...but I did vote!) Okay that's my rant...I'll stop now. They make me bitter

Holy opposition, Batman

Emily,
Wow, and I thought Anti- Greek sentiment was bad on my campus! (Sororities were banned from 1944- about 1980)

I can't believe your university would unjustly eliminate GLO's as a whole on such flimsly grounds. If they don't want them there, they should state why in a straightforward manner, not beat around the bush with this gender nonsense.

Just a question: Do they universially apply the gender rule to sprots teams too?

Hmmm...

M

No, they don't apply that to sports teams. We have male teams, and female teams, and there are co-ed temas. I mean girls can't play on the football team, and we don't have womens team...not that I want to play football but I'm sure there are girls that would if we had a team. it's just the left-wing socialist student government we have here...I could go on and on but I won't.
Anyway, we're having a COB party tomorrow and there are apparently 5 interested girls...and their all frosh...or should I say freshmen...anyway I think it's great!!! I am so excited. I hope we can double our pledge class.

PPL,

Emily

Em,

That's great about the COB's!

I just hope we have enough money in the budget to handle more angels

Unhappy

Well we had our COB party tonight, and only 2 girls came out
It was upsetting considering that we were supposed to have 5 or six out tonight, but our chapter is always recruiting. I just wish there was more we could do. Our chapter works so hard to get people to come out, but because of the anti-greek sentiment and the ridiculous rules by the CSA we are so limited in what we can do. It is deiscouraging but we are always working and i am so proud of my sisters for all the hard we're doing.

Anyway, that was my update.

PPL,

Emily

Amazing

Your chapter has an amazing story. I am proud of you, keeping on through all that anti-greek sentiment.

Keep it up, and remember to have fun once in a while. As I well know from my chapter, non-stop recruiting can sometimes get you down.

I wanted to add something about that rule... That's crazy!!! You guys should introduce yourselves as a women's intramural team so they can't kick you off campus. lol. Maybe not, but I am surprised they get away with it. What does Pi Phi HQ say about it? Can they help you at all?

ll,
M

Well the story I have heard is that apparently we were given club status a few years ago but somehow those meeting minutes mysteriously disappeared, and of course they don't want to give us club status. Anyway, our CPP is coming some time this semester to have a meeting with our CSA. I hope things go well. Actually one of the guys running for communications officer was apparently a Beta (our last remaining Beta...we used to have a chapter but it folded) and he was a good shot at helping us get club status. I voted for him, but he wasn't elected. I believe our entire chapter voted for him if they did vote. Anyway, hoepfully our CPP will have some success with the CSA. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Our last COB party we didn't get anygirls, but that's okay. We're having lunch witha few more feshman COBs this afternoon. I have never met them before but our President has and she seems really excited about them, so I'm looking forward to this. I think COB is more stressful than formal rush. We're having events left right and centre, it's so hard to find time to fit them in. But I manage and it's totally worth it. Well I should run off to class.

PPL,

Emily
