I was keeping quiet out of respect for the PNM and her mother, but our International President's daughter is a now a New Member of Alpha Gamma Delta at Gamma Delta chapter (Auburn)! Talk about pressure on all sides!

Why would some houses get to have quota additions? Is it because they lost more seniors at graduation and needed to make those numbers up?

no-it is more often to accomodate the pnms.

for instance, xyz chapter might have filled its quota before all the pnms names were called out, and the remaining pnms did not match to any other group, had xyz as their first choice and did not single intentional preference, so xyz was allowed to take a percentage of their quota in additions.

anyone who can explain it better, or correct me if i am wrong, please feel free to jump in.

quota additions are a good thing!! :-)

I'm having trouble with that, too. I was assuming that there's TONS of traffic, and that's the reason.

What was the drop out/no bid rate?

Congratulations to all the Newbies!!

According to what I heard - and don't quote me on this - 100% of the girls who attended Prefs were matched...whether or not they accepted their bid is another question though!

I talked to my chapter's Pi Chi today at Bid Day and she said she got a knock on her door this morning to let her know that one of her girls was released. She said that another girl was released earlier in the week and 6 girls withdrew from recruitment. So out of 16 in her group at the begining of the week, 8 were placed, including one in Alpha Xi!

If someone was released this morning, what exactly does that mean? Sorry, I don't know....

Means she either got no invitations to the next round of parties, or did not get a bid. But if a PNM goes to all the pref parties to which they're invited, and signs a bid card, she should get a bid. If she did not go to all the pref parties, or only put down 1 sorority (when she could have listed more) on her bid card, she could be released. Oh dear, that's clear as day-old coffee. Maybe some of our recruitment wizards could explain better.

perhaps the sunday morn. released pnm single intentional preferenced, and that sorority did not have her on their first bid list. since she had siped, she would not be eligible for snap bids or i think for quota additions.
