Two Alpha Xi Delta results from Wisconsin
Beta Psi (Carroll University) - 11 new members today (Quota +1)
Theta Tau (Marian University) 5 new members
And in Florida news,
Stetson University - 33. No news on quota but the girls are VERY happy. Apparently this is their largest pledge class ever. Good for them!

DePaul has 298 PNMs registered for recruitment. I believe registration closes tonight. They are down a TON from last year (408).
Phi Mu is colonizing in the Winter quarter, so I am wondering if that's making an impact already?
Also, chapter total is 88.

Do you think DePaul went too far with expansion? They have added 4 chapters since 2007 (XO, DG, AP, AXD) and plan to add a 5th this year (PM). The numbers were never huge at DePaul. I can understand wanting chapter sizes to be small, but this just seems like a saturated market.

If you were to ask me a year ago I would say no. Based on what I heard it was really blowing up the past few years. They had a record size recruitment last year with quota at 36. Alpha Xi took somewhere in the low 50s (I can't remember off the top of my head). And yes, I have heard the rationale is to keep chapter sizes down--several of the chapters were up in the 100s last year.
I am not sure how the next year or so is going to turn out. As of that number I got last night, there were 37% less PNMs this year, a chapter that is struggling numbers wise and a new chapter coming in a quarter that does not have formal recruitment. I will be interested to see how this all turns out!

I think Quinnipiac typically conducts formal recruitment in February. Have they changed? These are large numbers so I wonder if formal is now in the fall.

I thought the same thing until a former chapter development officer posted about the KD chapter's result. She helped charter the chapter so she was very proud. All the chapters participated in a fall formal recruitment. The dates were September 15th-22nd.
From the website "At Quinnipiac, only second-semester freshmen and upper-class students may participate in the new-member process. Freshmen should use their first semester to observe and participate in Greek events and activities before making a commitment."
It is only mentioned once though. The Facebook page doesn't mention anything about that requirement and neither does the Panhellenic blog. The numbers also make me doubt that as well.
