( ⬆️ Thought I’d pay tribute to Sly Stone who passed two days ago. A HUGE presence in my college years—saw them live in 1970 at a college concert. Funk/rock/ reggae—amazing!)

"God Only Knows" - The Beach Boys
We camethisclose to having this song at our wedding. Hubby wasn't sure that starting out with "I may not always love you..." though. Point taken.
For the more "seasoned" GC people, you may remember James Watt saying that the Beach Boys weren't American enough/attracted the wrong element to play at the National Mall for July 4, 1983. Instead, they played at a Team America (soccer) game at RFK, and we were there. Talk about your fun concerts! Between the music, the fans, and the number of 3-foot soccer balls bouncing all around the stadium, it was a concert that was amazing AND fun!
