Congrats, Maggie... that is a great opportunity. I love the Chicago Art Institute! If you run into Jenny Geiger, let her know you're a Pi Phi (she's an Ohio Epsilon, a year behind me). She worked there for ~15 years.

Hey girls. I'm still around but have been super busy. But, I think it's time for an update.
Highs: I'm enjoying married life. I love my job and my co-workers. We also recently adopted a new little kitten, Oscar.
Lows: Jeremy still hasn't found a new job, so we're stuck living in a town and apartment we hate. We're hoping to move closer to my job so I don't have to drive as much every day. My grandma has been pretty ill, so I get nervous every time my cell phone rings. I miss my parents alot, mainly because I don't get to see/talk to them as much as I used to. I love my job, but on some days I have to work 10 hour shifts, but I don't enjoy. (At least I get paid for it!)
Now, here are links to my wedding pictures. Enjoy!

Congratulations, erniegurl!
highs: The Tri Delt who was Panhellenic president when I was the assistant advisor at MSU came into town. We hadn't seen each other since the seventies! Yea for old Panhellenic friendships!
lows: since her son was in town to play my school in soccer, we went to the game and got caught in a downpour. By the end of the week, I had a vicious cold.

I have no idea the last time I posted to this thread but here goes:
Highs: I'm seeing a new guy (again!), but I think this one might be a keeper. Really really happy. We'll see. I joined the Austin Alumnae Club this year and have made a really close friend from there and through her met some other Panhellenic ladies as well. School is going well, and spring break is next week, which I really need to catch up on work! Also, someone from the GC community joined my chapter (not sure they want it to be revealed), which is pretty awesome.
Lows: Stressed out about a history conference I'm presenting at over break. Also stressed about school and TAing in general.
Also, I saw a Texas Alpha in the undergrad course I'm auditing today and said something to her. I think I weirded her out.

I don't think I have posted here in forever!
Highs: As soon as work is done for the night I am going to SAE for their first night of Paddy Murphy with one of my guy friends. One of my sister's is their sweetheart and its her last week so it will be nice to support her. Also, 3 of the members of my chapter are celebrating their 21st birthdays this Friday!
Lows: I have 2 tests this week and a paper due next week! Yuck!

Long time no see....
Highs: After a very long year of unemployment, my husband finally found a job that he loves. The bonus? I get to stay in Indiana and actually get to move closer to family.
Lows: Not too many. My grandma and uncle died recently, which shook the family up. My other grandma was in the hospital for about a week but is now safe and sound at home. (Although the speech therapist in me is worried but keeping an eye on her.) Also, my husband moved 2 hrs away to his new job, so I'll be living on my own for the next 3 weeks. At least I'll have my cats with me to keep me company!

I'm not married yet, and at the time I wasn't yet engaged, but Mr. Pi Phi and I just became engaged this weekend. It was such a surprise proposal!
We finally had our houswarming party on Saturday, and my parents came by. Mr. Pi Phi was talking to my father and he asked him for his blessing. He came into the house and I was talking to my mother, and he said to my mother that he had just asked my father for his blessing, I jkoingly said, "Well now that you've asked my parents, are you ever going to ask me??"
Well, he turned around and asked me right there, in front of my parents and all our friends! I was so surprised and so happy.
He wasn't really prepared to ask at that moment (There's no ring yet, but we're going shopping for one soon), so no plans have been made, we're still soaking it all in, but we're both very happy and very excited!

Hi girls! Yes, I'm still around for those who remember me. I tend to hang pretty low around GC. But, it's been awhile and thought that I should update.
Highs: My husband and I bought a house 3 months ago and have been fixing it up. We moved in this past weekend. I absolutely love this house and the huge amount of space we finally have. Also, our two year anniversary is coming up in a week.
Lows: I've been sick off and on for about a year since beginning my job. The toddlers and preschoolers are always sick, and I seem to always get it. I'm still battling a bit of bronchitis, which isn't fun when you're a speech therapist and trying to move!

I figured I'd give you guys my funny "high" for the day. While practicing the Greek alphabet today for welcome rounds, one of my sisters goes, "Wait, what does this song start with...oh wait, Alpha!"
We all burst into laughter. She's normally so intelligent, and it was an outstanding light-hearted moment of the day.

Highs: Being told by the retina specialist this morning that my eye was going to be ok after being diagnosed with a torn retina and undergoing eye surgery last week. He said that he wanted me to start using it again (Hello, Greek Chat and all those books). It brings me closer to returning to work. However, it seems that things are going well.
Lows: Thank God that I listened to my optometrist who said if you got floaters to come on in. The vision kept getting cloudier, and I knew that it was bad so I made an appointment with an opthamologist. Just being told that my retina was torn & that it could cause up to 50% loss of vision in that eye was a real shock to the system. Coming out of anesthesia and being zoned out on codeine-laced Tylenol for a few days because of the pain was a low, too. I still have to use eyedrops 3 times daily. Now the only other low is that the specialist will have to laser the other eye in a few months to ensure that the same thing won't occur there. I also have to get new glasses & contacts because the surgery/treatments change the shape of the eye.
