I posted this to a friend last night, and it's helping me make it through this week of finals...

Psalm 46:10

"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exhalted among the nations, I will be exhalted in the earth."

Take a deep breath, listen to the words coming through your heart, and know that we're all thinking of you and your husband right now, and praying for God's will to be done.

I have a bit of news:

My grandmother that was in the hospital has now been moved to rehab....I figure that's better than nothing. Still not sure when she will come back home.

My other grandmother had to make a visit to the emergency room last week.....pray for her. She's back home, but I think some serious changes need to be made, so that she won't continue to have the same problems over and over.

My cousin's knee is still swollen and hurting. I'll update when I know more....

Thanks for the prayers.

I'm praying for you guys too. There is a lot of stuff going on in ADPi's lives right now. Thanks for all the support, and we will get throught it!!!

Keep the prayers coming for Bill and baby Christian...

A week ago, Christian was moved to the Children's Hospital in Pittsbugh. So now they're so far away from home while they deal with this situation. Between our school and the school where Bill's wife works, we've collected over $2000 for them, but I don't know how much of a dent that will put in their medical bills.

They're staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Pittsburgh, and that made me smile. I've always loved our philanthropy, but hearing about it from him gives me more of a reason. It's been a good place for them, so far.
Did they mention the local AA stopping in on Wednesday? I'm here in VA, so I wasn't able to attend.

Updates...
Our vet said he can't see any retina in my Natalie-cat's left eye, but the globe itself is ok. We can take her to a veterinary opthamologist about 45 minutes away, if we want to know for certain. She is more outgoing, friendly and playful than before the accident, and she's NOT walking into things, so we're going to pass on the opthamologist. I've already shelled out over $800 on this episode... (gee, good thing I *didn't* go to Convention or I couldn't have paid the vet!)

On the baby-situation, there has been no progress. We've still not had an interview with DYFS, but according to the site supervisor, we're assigned to a permanent caseworker, not the temp one anymore. Great. But, it does get better... a woman who recently started working for me told me *she's* in the process of adopting. Yesterday, while talking to her caseworker at the adoption agency she mentioned *my* case, and my frustration. The caseworker told her to have me call her - at the office or at her home! I will call her on Monday - needed to talk to DH first.
I've been really obsessed & tormented over what to do with this situation. I'm taking this latest development as a sign to not yet give up.

Oh, the days when the Magic 8-ball answered all of life's questions....

ETA: Thank you so much for your continued prayers. I can feel them working!!

I feel good about the baby situation, F&F, and am still keeping you in prayer! And good to hear about Natalie!

My uncle was hospitalized yesterday with a possible heart attack. He's very old, frail, and stubborn. I'm so scared for him - his first wife died when he was in his early 60's, and he married out of loneliness. His second wife keeps us in the dark as much as possible, so this really freaks me out!

Update: my uncle is scheduled for a six-way bypass in the morning. For those of y'all who are medical, you know that there are only six major arteries, and 2 minor ones - and two are 95-100% blocked.

Please, if you pray, please pray for Bill. He doesn't know the Lord in a personal way, or I don't think I'd be this scared.

honey, your uncle is in my thoughts.

my grandfather had a quadruple bypass almost five years ago, he's not in as good health as he was prior to the surgery but he is still around "buggin" us. LOL. I call him my goober grandpa. LOL. Anyways, just saying all this cause obviously my grandpa recovered so I have faith that your uncle will recover. The process is just very, very slow.

Thank you all for your prayers for my uncle! The doctors decided to only do five of the arteries, and maybe come back later for the last one. He's already off the ventilator, and we may be allowed to visit tomorrow or Thursday! He is such a precious man!!

PS - if y'all remember, my mother had a four-way bypass last year - and she's his baby sister!! When they say (or, when Brianna says) that the recovery is long, believe it!! I'm still staying with her!

Updates:

1) My grandmother (dad's side) came home from the hospital last Friday, and seems to be in good spirits. There are people staying with her at all times, but she just goes about her business like normal. Thanks for the prayers for her.

2) My G-mommy (mom's side) is still in the hospital, but is supposed to be moved to a rehab-halfway house today, if there's room. She's not quite as mobile as she was (which isn't saying much, cause she wasn't to begin with). I'm hoping that this time around she will actually do her therapy and get to be stronger. She's real stubborn though, so sometimes it's a struggle. Keep praying for her to get better.

3) My cousin is having exploratory surgery on her knee to find out why it's swelling so much. Hopefully they'll find out quickly what to do for her, I know she's in a lot of pain.

Thanks everybody!

Another update: my uncle (Bill) has had a setback. He has a temperature and is chilled, somewhat common in this situation, but frightening nevertheless. My aunt has STILL not let us visit, but we may do a commando raid tomorrow!

After everything he's done for the USA, it's so ironic that this is happening right now!

One of our sisters (in my chapter) lives in Pensacola , Fl where Hurricane Dennis is headed. So please pray for her!
And I have family in Fort Walton Beach, Florida where they are going to be hit pretty bad too.

Please let us know as soon as you know if she is okay.

Also, if she needs anything. I may not know her but she is a sister and she needs something I will try to help out and send it.

You know I'm surprised that we didn't do like an ADPi Hurricane donation last year. So many sisters were affected by the 3 hurricanes and 1 tropical storm last summer.

As for me, if everyone could just send positive vibes my way. I'm still trying to get a contract for next school year. I'm meeting with the assistant superintendent on Thursday, so please keep your fingers crossed for me.

Unhappy

Ladies, I've just written the email equivilant of a "Dear John" letter, or at least a "we need to iron the following situations out right now or I'm outta here" letter. It's really hurting me to do this, but I know it has to be done. A broken engagement is better than a broken marriage.

If anyone would say a prayer for Jim (who, even though I have talked all around this, seems to be utterly clueless!) and me (who absolutely hates to hurt people, including myself!), I would so appreciate it. He's a really wonderful man - but if we were really to be married, we would have done so by now.

Oh, Honey, I'm hurting both for you and with you. How hard it must have been to do that, I'm sure your heart aches. However, what a brave stand, and evidently, a necessary one. I pray that God's best for you will be done. Let us know how it goes. Praying, praying, for you!

I'm also praying for all of the last several requests above. Continue to update us as you can.
