Who says that minority kids don't waste their parents' money? I know so many Chinese Canadian kids who are just plain spoiled rotton. These kids get cars, trips and sometimes even condos as graduation presents, and many started partying it up when they were in middle school (so much for the "good Chinese kid" stereotype). My high school was, for a long time, a WASP bastion, but in the past 20 or so years has become much more diverse. I would say that close to half the kids in the upper grades are Asian (with many being foreign boarders). Many of the girls who go there come from families who are already upper middle class, and have been for a few generations, but many are first generation, as in their parents somehow became very successful, either in this country or in Asia.
