And Taylor Armstrong spent $60k on a 4th B-Day party for what? To deduct from her future alimony.
It's called Keeping up with the _________ (insert Manzo's, Maloof's, etc).

I thought the exact same thing! They would have gotten more donations had they just put out a beautifully wrapped box with a slit in the top and a sign about using this box to donate to the hospital than asking people to bring a toy.

Full disclosure: One of my kids works in reality ("alternative") television. We have friends who work in it as well. So...I totally get it: the posing for the cameras, the parties paid for, in large part, by the vendors.
But some traits shine through: Caroline SEEMS genuine. The Maloofs went shopping at a boutique on Robertson. My girls have shopped there: It really isn't expensive. If they wanted to be obnoxious the Maloofs could have gone to Chanel for a shopping trip. They didn't. And Taylor's daughter's birthday party (with no pretensions of a charity event)...my kids have been to over the top birthday/Bar Mitzvahs/and now weddings. This is my neighborhood. I have never seen a birthday party, presumably for a child, like that. This was (no surprise, I know you know this) for the mommy to make up for.......what? All the parties that she didn't have.
And I suspect that Jesus would be pleased that they Gorgas celebrate his birthday. But again, He would be far happier for a bigger check for the hospital and a visit from the families. Just a thought............

I was thinking the same thing when I heard Melissa say its Jesus' birthday and therefore it needs to be over the top. But hey, J also says I can't pass judgement on them so I'm trying my hardest not to...

I have to say it was definitely interesting to see this all unfold. I agree with Albert's opinion that the only person that brings a bodyguard to a party is someone who is anticipating trouble (hence Kim G. bringing the lady suing Teresa & Joe). I agree that Kim was there to start trouble b/c she wouldn't let it go after they bounced out her friend who obviously handled the situation way better than Kim G. did. While it was surprising and funny to watch Caroline boot Kim out of Melissa's house, I have to say I thought she did the right thing. Kim was not listening to anyone and was obviously hellbent on stirring up the drama. I felt bad for Chris since he was caught between his family & his best friend but still, it was for the better that Kim was given the heave ho.
What I didn't like was watching Joe Guidice's limited interactions and stupid comments about Joe Gorga & Melissa when they went over. Did he really think the cameras wouldn't catch him calling them animals & talking crap about them? Teresa & Joe are trying to mend their relationship. His commentary isn't helping. I was surprised to see Teresa defend him in her blog. Those comments were uncalled for. He could have been polite & kept his thoughts to himself. What an ass.
Kathy & her husband irritate me. Why is she on the show?
Ashley (Jaqueline's daughter) needs to grow the eff up & stop her stupid bitching & moaning. She gets no sympathy from me or most viewers. The brat has everything she could want & all she does is complain about everything. Ugh!

Have you read this blog? Apparently Bravo edited her blog on there. I know Teresa is a shizzat talking/starter, but Melissa is so fake. I have to believe Teresa on this one.

Still can't tell who started the fight though. Looks like Joe went to confront Gorga and Gorga went after him.

I'm just getting back from an opera bootcamp in Los Angeles (where I had NO television ... ), so I'm just getting a chance to watch all my DVR'd shows.
I still think Melissa is doing her best to try to help bring the family together, but she ain't no fool either. She had to give Teresa a hard time, because Teresa didn't even seem to care about the family during last season. I still say Teresa's renewed attention to "family" involves the fact that her "family" has been casted on the episode WITH her. Now, all of a sudden, EVERYthing is about "family" these days.
Now that Melissa and Teresa have talked, my hat's off to Melissa for getting the attorney, who was suing the Giudices, thrown out of the party. But even in that, she could've been even more shady about it, but she wasn't. I think she handled it in a very diplomatic way. That's my opinion, and I honestly believe that Melissa is a genuine person.
As for Caroline throwing Kim "G" out, ... I don't know. That was long overdue. How the hell she got into the party (with a BODYGUARD, no less) is beyond me in the first place. If I'm invited to a party, I need not go at all if I'm concerned about having someone protect me. That makes NO sense.

General Observations from last night:
Teresa has no intention of making up with her sister in law or cousin. Just her brother.
Joe Guidice is an a$$
Ashley is a biotch.
Caroline sometimes needs to stay out of her kid's business, particularly when it comes to their dating life.

I don't know, I think Teresa cares about making things better with her SIL just because it'll help things with her brother.
But Kathy is an asshole and if she were my cousin I wouldn't bother making up with her, either.
And yeah, Ashley's really a big jerk.

Ashley couldn't even buy a five dollar frame and put a nice picture of her and her mother in it? Disgusting.

Why does Joe act like such a...bum (I am struggling to find the appropriate word?)
Like, 90% of the time you see him he is laying around shirtless and looking/acting as if he doesn't want to be bothered.

Run a restaurant 7 days a week. See how you feel on a day off. The guy is working his ass off and the family is stressed trying to get back on their feet.
And before anyone tries to argue..... you CAN lose your business and be in major debt and still have your house and live "normal". We don't know every detail of their lives, but my family has been in their situation and it SUCKS.

Don't get so defensive. We're talking about a TV show. I know running a business is hard (little known fact: my dad owns a business.) It just seems a little weird that he just lays around all the time (bum may have been a weird word choice, couldn't think of anything else.)
