ok...
did anyone see that the black clud looked to have 'snapshots' of some people/scenes/memories of eko's home?
any speculation on where this ckoud comes from? my thought is that this island harbours every passengers past and manifests itself in a spiritual form. now, dont clown me if this is farfetched.

I really thought that the other guy, who put Eko's brother in the plane, intentionally left Eko (wanting the money for himself)

That's exactly what I thought too.
I haven't watched the whole episode yet (I was on the phone during part of it), so someone help me out. I know near the end he SAID he was really a priest.... but was he really? Or do we just not know?
Also, the scene where he found his brother in the plane.... I know it's supposed to be grief and everything- but did anyone else think that the drooling was a little bit gross and unnecessary??? Eww.

The guy with the gold caps did push Eko out of the plane. He wanted the money/drugs for himself.
What did Locke do for a living? I remember the flashbacks where he was working in a cubicle but what was his background? Was he ever in the military or a government agent?

Wasn't it the box company or something like that?
And no, if I'm remembering correctly (as I believe I am), he was never in the military or involved with the government. I believe it was more of a fantasy or dream life... what he wished he could have been.

Things to point out:
1. The images Eko saw in the black smoke were a boy (I think Walt but I can't get a clear screencap yet), Emma (the little girl from the tail section of the plane that was taken by the others), a church, the old man he killed, his brother dead, the Nigerian woman selling the statues, Jesus on a cross.
2. We still don't know why Eko was in Australia in the first place so YAY to another episode flashback episode sometime (hopefully before Season 2 is over).
3. Claire might be getting some of her memory back b/c she remembered Charlie telling her he was a drug addict (I believe before she was kidnapped) so she may be starting to remember more things.
4. During the drug deal, the two men Eko killed were talking & Sayid's name was mentioned.
5. The promo's for next weeks episode look great! "This is OUR Island" was definitely creepy. Those Others are creepy mofo's.

My take on Eko "becoming" a priest, I think he did, BT (TIVO, VCR, whatever ) the eppy as soon as possible. In order to get the plane, Eko force his brother to sign some papers saying that they were priests, so on paper Eko was a priest, but the brother made the comment that he would never BE a priest. Remember, Eko got into that life (Killing the old man), to save his brother and in the end, Eko was not able to save him at all. When the military mistook Eko as a real priest and the death of his brother...my take is that Eko DID become that priest in the end.....

How did Eko save his brother's life? I missed that part.
Eko looks familiar. Was he in any other TV shows or movies?

The thugs came to the villages when Eko and his brother were children, they pulled "little Eko", shoved a gun in his hand and almost forced him to kill the old man. Seeing the hesitation and the thugs getting more aggressive, Eko took the gun out of "little Eko's" hand and killed the old man instead. The thugs took Eko
