Thumbs up

Thanks Ideal08 for posting. While I didn't get to read your blog I know if it's anything like your post it's as inspiring as these ladies say. I posted earlier about my significant weight loss and am still on that "lifestyle" journey as well. I'm so close to ONEderland but for about two months or so my scale has been stuck. I know its due to the monotony and regularity of my routine. I read about the whole "Diet Clock" concept in some book. (It basically says that you can only really seriously be on a diet for about 12 weeks and then your body gets stuck. This book suggested that you after these 12 weeks you focus not on continuous weight loss but rather working to maintain that weight and the lifestyles.) I think that's where I am. However I'm ready to get off. And I didn't see how long it said to wait before you go back. I know where my pitfalls lie and I have some idea of what to do. This thread is truly inspiring. Ladies, let's DO IT!!

Checking in ...

I lost 6.6 lbs this week for a total of 74 on WW (one more for the star!) and 86 total.

I went shopping this weekend ... I bought 18s and 20s for the first time in about 15 years! I even bought some things from Old Navy! Wow!

I will be creating a web site very soon. Will keep everyone posted.

Congratulations!!!!! You and KimL are my inspirations for this week!

PV06 - I'm going to a TOPS meeting tonight to see how I like it. As much as I wanna save money, I actually LIKE WW and I can't see leaving. Especially since I want to be a receptionist one day. I dunno. I realized yesterday that even if I start going to TOPS, I can't leave WW until I at least hit my 10% goal (only 10lbs away). I have a feeling I'm always gonna come up with reasons not to leave WW. I feel some sort of loyalty to them or something.

I had a good weekend. I got compliments on my weight loss. I realized that I'M the only one harping on gaining these 6lbs back. I measured my waist this morning and it looks like I also gained an inch. But we'll see next week. It might just be water. I wasn't supposed to measure until this weekend, but I couldn't wait. But I was actin' like gaining those 6lbs back was the end of the world, when all others see is that I'm STILL 40lbs lighter than before. Quietly, I'm tryna be like BabyBlue91!!! I can't wait until I can say I'm 75lbs down (cuz we know next week that's where she'll be).

Let's have a good week, y'all!

Hello all! I am a newbie to the boards, but I have read each and every post in this thread and it is amazing to see what you ladies have done. BabyBlue91 and Ideal 08, you two have the most inspiring weight loss stories I have ever heard (read)!

I re-committed to WW myself for the umpteenth time and am going to look over the sparkpeople page you all speak of.

Thanks again for all the tips and good luck to everyone!

Hey ladies! Thanks so much for the supportive posts and PMs. I was a little down about the whole ordeal. But I got over it. I'm down 5.5lbs to 171. Still not back in the 160's, but it happens. I'll be fine.

BB91, it's so good to hear from you! Can't wait to see that website!!!

Go delph!!! Can I have some of your missing booty? Some of us are less fortunate.

I've had a sinus infection for almost a week and I haven't been walking at all. I'm exhausted all the time and my head feels like a hot air balloon. Once this blasted SI is gone, I'll pick back up the walking.

Soror RD, how is being a vegetarian coming along? Ever since doing FS, there are still days out of the week that I don't eat any meat. What kind of meals have you been having? What do you do for protein? Are you enjoying new recipes? Such an exciting change; congratulations!

I rediscovered my Eating for Life book last week. Y'all, I made my own bbq sauce and it was THE BOMB!!!! I'll never buy bottled bbq sauce again. Of course I altered his recipe, but I used it as a base. Here's what had happened. I made some cornish hens two weeks ago, and to baste them, I used worchestire sauce and italian dressing. The leftovers were SO DAYUM GOOD!!! It tasted like I'd marinated the hens in some type of bbq sauce. At first I was surprised that it tasted that way, then I remembered EFL had a bbq recipe and I looked and it used worchestire sauce and vinegar, which is all italian dressing really is. I added some tomato sauce and honey... the bomb! I want some more, lol.

How upset was I that the newest issue of Fitness did not have success stories this month?! Am I the only one who looks forward to those? It's my favorite part of both Fitness and WWM. Hmph.

Thanks for keeping me encouraged, ladies! Y'all stay encouraged, too!

Yay Soror! Keep on girl!

I miss cooking. The house where I am now has a tiny kitchen with NO counter space and I just don't want to cook there, period. I miss MY kitchen. At least it's pretty easy to get healthy vegetarian food in NYC (I have decided to stop eating chicken altogether and focus on vegetables, fish and red meat once or twice a week).

I am going to the gym today. Been a while since I went- I've been in the vicious stress circle, where I'm stressed so I don't go to the gym, and then I'm more stressed because I didn't go, rinse, lather and repeat.

BrownSugaBabe,
I feel you girl, I feel that "whatever" pain so much right now..I'on even know how to explain it. It must be the weather, cuz I have no desire to lift a finger to work out or anything. I have a story..and it's a bit long, so bear with me...
About 3 weeks ago (or more..I forget), a girlfriend of mine who is vegan, came to me all excited, she had come across a new way to eat that she claimes will change your life. I had been telling her how I hit a wall and didn't know how to get over it, and that I was on the verge of giving up this whole health eating and stuff. Now mind you, this is the same girl who got me all hyped on running this year and I still run..erry' now-n-den ..but she has stopped running since late summer.
She tells me about becoming a raw foodist..someone who doesn't cook their food. At frist thought, I was like.CV, here you go again...I'm aint eating raw meats and isht..that aint even gonna happen. So she sends me all sorts of websites and a video to watch and I read that raw foodists eat nothing but fruits and veggies and some nuts. There is no meat, no sugar, no processed food and no cooking. So I told her I would try it for two weeks to see if it could help me get over this fitness/health wall I had hit.
Well 3 weeks latter and about 8lbs lighter, about 70% to 80% of my diet has been nothing but raw foods and I actually feel great and look even better. It's not for everyone and you really have to read what's out there to be better informed.

^^^Lol, I think I love meat too much for that. But if you like it, I love it. I said I'd start exercising regularly when I got to school because there's a 24 hour fitness center in my new apartment building. So much for that. I'm studyi--correction, I'm avoiding studying too much to go exercise, even if it is downstairs. Haha, for real, I ejoyed it for awhile, but it got boring. I need to find a class or something so I can have some motivation. One of the ladies in this thread (rhoyal tempest?) gave me some indirect encouragement to try South Beach and it's been going well. I fell off the wagon, but it was easy to get back on. It's nice to know I'm not the only one who hit the ground kinda hard.

Thanks for this info!! I went hard as a vegetarian for about a month, then jumped off the wagon. However, I think that I am about to jump back on, as I have been feeling like crap ever since going back to the meat. As I don't have tons of time to research right now (with me studying for finals and all that), can you post a few more links for me or give me a crash course on how you've followed this lifestyle? I think that it would be interesting to try, as I LOVE the idea of NOT cooking. Who has time for that?

Keep me posted!

RD, there really isn't a crash course, the two websites I posted are really where I've gotten most of my information from. The second website is all about and recipes for green smoothie, something I drink EVERRRRYYY MORNING, without fail. For me, I have my green smoothie (that I make in a blender, though I think I need a juicer) about 4 or 5 cups, depending on how much water and how many fruits I use. The green smoothie isn't for the faint of heart, so I'ma post what I put in it. Some folks will turn their nose up or make an ugly face, but it's the most filling food I've had in all my "dieting" years.
1 1/2 cup kale greens (I use my hands and grab a huge handful)
1 pear
1 apple
1 banana
1 celery stalk
1 cup water (or more if you'd like)
(make sure you cut up your fruits)
I put in water, then the bananas and kale. I start blending till it's liquid, then I add in the rest gradually, till it's all smooth. I add some protien powerder, since the fruit and Kale give you fiber and let the blender run till I'm sure all fruits are completely blended. I pour in a big water bottle with the plastic straw, and head out the door. I'm done by the I get to work, rinse our my cup and go about my day.
I bring fruits and some nuts with me to snack on during the day and always a salad for lunch. And because they are all high density foods, I'm NEVER hungery.
Remember, for me, it started out as a clense and a way to get over my wall, now, I can't do without my green smoothie in the mornings..

Happy the day after Thanksgiving ladies!!
Ideal, you are so right, yesterday, not only did I COOK my ARESE off, I ate enough without gorgeing..except for the Moscato LOL
I gave away all my food to my brother, his friend and my Soror. I have enough food to last me today and tomorrow. The only thing I kept a great deal is was my greens.hmm hmm good.
I've gotta replenish my fruit and fresh veggie supply to start my weekend and week off on the right raw step. My goal is to drop 15lbs by the time I go to CA to see my family, which gives me a little under 4 weeks. That's my goal!

My weakness has been gumbo! I've been eating it like crazy. Other than that, I've been eating pretty normally. I have been falling in love with beignets again, only because I've been studying at the coffee shop since school has been closed, but that ends today. So, I'll be back at school with a big ol' bottle of water and my Lean Cuisines. LOL!

My First True Milestone

I reached a milestone today and wanted to share. I worked out five days this week! This is the first time that I've actually committed five days to my work out program. I also fulfilled my first week of the Couch to 5K running program (http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml). I am EXCITED!

What were your successes for the week?
