What a roller coaster ride!!!!
Journey medley rocked!
Loved the V.A. (Queen) song interspersed with Quinn Delivering.
Emma & Mr Shu = <3
Glee club serenading Mr. Shu = tears
Sue having a heart - yay!
Puck and Mr Shu singing one of my favorite renditions of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" - bawling.
Miss Corcoran adopting the baby - interesting twist.
PS the gold performance dresses were designed by Betsey Johnson!

I have to say it... I do not like 80s music. Including Journey. Everyone at work just LOVES Journey and other "classics"... but I am not one of them. With that said, they did a good job with it.
I agree with ree-Xi: Puck & Shu's song was great.
Did she officially adopt the baby? Maybe I missed that. I figured that's what they were hinting at, but don't remember if it overtly happened. Of course, my dogs were being special around then so who knows!

Yes, DrPhil- you understand perfectly. is exactly the face I use when I'm blasted with 80s music!

For a season finale, I thought this episode was really lacking! The only great part was Sue (with the judges and at the end with Will).
I don't really know why they had Rachel's bio-mom adopt the baby. It seems kind of mean that she gets to have this new beginning after she kicked up dirt in Rachel's life and then basically said, "I made you find me, now go away."

thetygerlily- I'm with you on the 80s music for the most part. Jessie's girl was solid, but one person only needs so much Journey.
Still, New Directions was still amazing to watch! I've seen We Will Rock You and everything (good show), but enough 70s/80s rock!!! I thought that Vocal Adrenaline should have contrasted more with ND.
As a finale, kind of lacking. Ditto for Sectionals.

Disclaimer* - I don't know the specific laws, but have an idea why the "students" are performing older music.
I know that some more modern performers' songs have allowed GLEE! to use their music (and I am amazed at their musical arrangements with Rap and R&B, because I haven't seen that done before), but when it comes to real-life high schools, they are usually working off songbooks/collections of songs with rights that are more accessible. After a certain time, songs fall under a "fair use" rule that allows the music, lyrics, etc. to be used. In this case, the performances are not-for-profit, but for exhibition.
The fact that the cast is re-recording these songs is a entirely other issue, but there are laws allowing a cover song to be produced/sold/performed, even if they are relatively new.
The Journey songs that New Directions performed were from the early 80s. Vocal Adrenaline did a Queen song from the mid-70s. This makes sense to me. For example, when I was in HS (mid-late 80s), our choir did a 7-8-minute medley of the Beach Boys. Granted, the BB had one or two "later" hits, but the stuff we performed in choir was mostly from the 60s and 70s (outside of widely-used/classical pieces like "El Shaddai", "Canon in D", etc). I remember that we had done one "current" piece (one-time performance) and I remember going through a lot to be able to do it. We performed "When the Children Cry," backing up one of the guys in our class who had a rock band. Back then, it was pretty edgy for a Catholic high school.
I have to say that although our choir didn't enter competitions, GLEE brings back many memories for the 4 years I performed in high school Choir. We were lucky enough to take it as an elective, so I got to sing 3-4 days a week. Amazing way to keep your voice healthy if you are also doing musical theater!!
*If anyone here understands music copyright law, feel free to provide accurate and specific info.

If it were a real school, I'd totally be on board with it, but this is a network, so I guess I just expected more? Haha, I'm ok with the show being a little less realistic if it means a better performance.
Plus, I think with Don't Stop, it's played EVERYWHERE. Wedding receptions, wedding socials, graduations, parties, sporting events, etc. It's quickly losing any pump up factor for me.

Yes, the song choices were less than spectacular for both groups. ND performs so cliche. Standing, smile, move, strong stance. We have heart! We have spirit! Um...sure. VA is more interesting to watch at least. But singing one song was risky and got boring. Everyone's done BR. The music is getting repetetive and I think that's why everyone loves the "theme" episodes b/c their different even though they NEVER include only the songs from that artist.

Ok so I just watched the last episode and is it just me or are the names of the glee clubs all dirty?
Oral Itensity?
New Directions sounded a lot like "Nude Erections" when the announcer said it.
Am I late for the game on this or the only weirdo who thought of it?

I think it made sense for them to close it where they began. Using Journey here bookends the season nicely and Mr. Schu even made the point pretty blatant in the episode itself.

Still, that announcer needs to enunciate more

Who knew adoption was so easy? Apparently no one wants beautiful white babies from rich families anymore -- they just have to hand them off to whoever will take them. It's sad, really.
