Trying to lighten the mood w/Lil' Kim
More signs of the apocalypse.
Lil' Kim to visit college classroom
Syracuse University offers a class devoted to the hip-hop star's life
The Associated Press
Updated: 5:49 p.m. ET Nov. 2, 2004
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Syracuse University students taking “Hip-Hop Eshu: — The Life and Times of Lil’ Kim” will have a guest speaker Wednesday — the multiplatinum recording artist herself.
Kim accepted an invitation to speak to the class, which is an accredited course being taught by English professor Greg Thomas. She’ll also meet with faculty and about 100 other invited students during her visit to discuss her role in the hip-hop culture and her experiences as one of its leading female stars.
“I am honored and quite proud that a class is being taught on my sensationalist lyrics, unique style and fashion and leadership role within the hip-hop community,” the 29-year-old rapper said in a statement.
The class is one of a growing number of courses being offered by colleges and universities around the country that look at the growth of hip-hop as a cultural movement.
The Syracuse course requires students to read Kim’s song lyrics as literary texts and analyze her iconography in videos and performances, according to the course description.

^^^ I read this in the Daily News.....
This chit is a hot @$$ mess!!!!!!!! Why in the world would they create, offer and teach this crap?!?! Lil' Kim may have been a trendsetter with her dirrrrty mouth, but she shole ain't classroom material!!!!!!!!
Speaking of rappers, yestiddy was Nelly's birfday. Why in the hayle did the Daily News say that he was born in 1978? Ole boy is thirrrrty years old!!! I seent the episode of Driven on VH1 and his momma said, "Nelly was born Cornell Haynes, Jr. on November 2, 1974!!!" I 'member that chit!!! I understand that when recording artists come out, they be changing their ages so they can be younger than they really are. But if your family and friends appear on an episode of Driven, best believe they will be pulling your age card and showing it to the whole world.

Dang Kim is 29???
This is really interesting. I don't know if she is worthy of a whole class but I could see a book being written about her. From a critical sociological point of view...

I think Lil' Kim is 28. She and I share the same birthday and she's a year older than I am. Plus, that's what her momma said on her episode of Driven.......
