Anyone check out mugglenet recently?
They received info from an sorce that HPHBP will be out June 2005. Naturally, they receieved a message from JK's people saying it is untrue.
I'm still holding out hope for a late spring/early summer release.

Yeah, I saw that on Leaky Cauldron. I'm crossing my fingers! I was just having a discussion today at the bookstore I work at that I think the book will come out this summer. JKR's said that her pregnancy won't interfere with her finishing the book, and they always come out in the summer.

In the Edinburgh festival interview, Rowling states that she was very careful about how she worded the prophesy... and if this is true then it is obvious why Dumbledore did not kill Voldemort in book 5, and explains (well a little bit) why Voldemort survived the night he tried to kill Harry. If Voldemort dies, then so does Harry. According to her prophesy
" neither can live while the other survives"
That was the direct quote.... so it could be taken to meant that if one is alive then they must both be alive.... I guess this means Harry dies in book 7 in order to save everyone. It makes sense, Dumblesore talked about death being the next adventure and he would be with his real family (Parents and Sirius). Plus, the end of C.S.Lewis's Narnia cronicles had them all in heaven as the final adventure... and I remember reading on here that Lewis was one of Rowling's favorite authors and someone she modeled her writing off of.
This is not to say that if Harry dies, I will be happy because I love the character (and I have always been a Harry/Hermione shipper

I don't argue the theory or the quote. I just want to state that when Dumbledore was telling Harry this, he agreed with him that in the end, one of them has to die. I don't think Dumbledore would tell Harry that he would have to die but why not tell the truth? Maybe I'm just being stupid but I don't know what to think anymore. *sigh* I wish the next book would come out already.
*pulls hair in frustration*

LOL yeah I think we ALL wish the next book would come out. I really hope I am totally wrong with my theory. It does make me wonder how they are going to take the story through 2 books. Voldemort is back, Harry supposedly knows all about the prophesy... so are the next two books just basically going to be about them fighting Voldemort or are there going to be other villans introduced? And although the Death Eaters are in prison we know they are going to break out... so what will happen with Draco Malfoy? Do you think he will continue to go to Hogwarts? Ha, I could go on forever speculating... I really hope the 6th book comes out soon!

Remember that the next part of the prophecy is "and either shall die at the hand of the other." (or something like that) This leads me to believe that neither can have a life while both are alive, but that one of them must kill the other in order to have a life. I don't think that both have to die, but reasonably they both could. I don't think she'd do that to us though!

<<First of all, I just want to say that I feel like a nut for not knowing that this thread existed. Secondly, I want to say THANK YOU to all of you.>>
Now...I took the prophecy to mean that they(Harry and Voldie) can have lives BUT only Harry can kill Voldie and vice versa. Also that when one of them dies, so shall the other. Their lives are connected no matter how much we don't want to think about that. It would also explain why she(Rowling) said there will be no more Harry Potter books after Book 7.

That's pretty screwed up if she ends up killing him off after the 7th book. I would not be happy. I think it's safe to say that most of us would be pretty p/o'd if that happened.
Now I'm a bad girl b/c I tend to look at the final chapter before I start reading the book. I have made myself swear up and down that I wouldn't do that in Book 7 but already I can hear the little demon on my shoulder telling me that it's o.k. to peek.

That's cool that C.S. Lewis is one of Rowling's favorite authors. Did you guys know they're making Chronicles of Narnia into a movie right now? They're filming Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe in Prague right now (I think). I found these really cool pics from the movie. Gets me soooo excited! http://www.darkhorizons.com/news04/041130a.php

??? What about the already-made Narnia movies? They're from...BBC maybe? I think those are great, so I don't see why they need to make new ones.

Yeah, there is a BBC version, but it's from like the 70s. They were pretty good, but this is going to be amazing. Disney is involved and so far, everyone is saying it's going to be epic. ANyway, do you remember Aslan in the books? They just decided who is going to be his voice in the movie - Brian Cox. I think he was in Bourne Supremacy.

We used to rent the animated ones from the Library on LaserDisc. How I loved those. You cannot believe how disappointed I was in Turkish Delight, though, when I tasted it for the first time in London. I might like it now, but then it was such a huge letdown!

Getting back on topic (no offense to anyone); JKR has posted some updates to her website. New FAQ poll is up. As are a few new answered questions.
Enjoy!

D'OH!!!
WHY, OH WHY, DID JK HAVE TO UPDATE HER SITE NOW??!!
I don't have time to sit around and think about the answers (but I do admit that I read them all, and spent a few minutes debating). I know the second thing I'm doing after finals on Thursday
