On the whole "whose stadium is better?" penis-measuring contest:
The Sporting News' Best College Football Stadiums
#1 Neyland Stadium (Tenn.)
#2 Notre Dame
#3 Florida Field (Florida)
#4 Kyle Field (Texas A&M)
#5 Husky Stadium (Wash.)
#6 Tiger Stadium (LSU)
#7 Michigan Stadium
#8 Camp Randall Stadium (Wisconsin)
#9 Memorial Stadium (Nebraska)
#10: Autzen Stadium (Oregon)
KS 361 times Kyle has been referred to as the greatest college football atmosphere by the Gameday crew

Gameday says that every weekend (not to rip on Kyle Field, more on Gameday)
Anyway, here's Kiper's Top 10 Home-field Advantages:
1 - Florida ("The Swamp")
2 - LSU ("Death Valley")
3 - Tennesee (Neyland Stadium)
4 - Oregon (Autzen Stadium)
5 - Syracuse (Carrier Dome)
6 - Washington State
7 - Washington (Husky Stadium)
8 - Iowa (Kinnick Stadium)
9 - Nebraska (Memorial Stadium)
10 - Miami (Orange Bowl)
These are based less on quality of fans or scenery and more on noise, disruption, etc, from what it sounds - here's the link
Personally, I think any stadium can be tough, but many of the bigger ones (the 100k+ monstrosities) wind up being quite a ways from the actual field, and only TN makes both lists. Interesting. Sort of.

The Home Depot: What school has the best atmosphere in college football?
Chris: With this, you get in trouble with 107 others when you say… best overall atmosphere. Because I don’t know what that means… I mean, the overall traditions and trappings… Texas A&M is a great place, but I mean, the best atmosphere… I’ll say Texas A&M. It’s a different answer.

And it's Kyle Field, not Kyle Stadium.
And pardon me if i don't put a whole lot of stock into Mel Kiper's analysis of football stadiums. I mean, what little stock i put into his opinion as a draft guru, i put less in his evaluation of college stadiums then people whose job it is to travel to them each week.
I have a hard time giving credit to anyone who ranks Miami's stadium number ten.

MOST SCENIC
1. Army, Michie Stadium
There is nothing like being at Michie Stadium on the banks of the Hudson River with the leaves changing during the third weekend in October. The scenery is incredible. And how about the inspiration drawn from being at such an historic landmark? You see the statues of MacArthur, Patton and Eisenhower. Then on game-day morning, you have the pleasure of witnessing the Cadet Parade. And how about when the cadets sing, "On brave old Army team"? That's an unbelievable moment.
7. Air Force, Falcon Stadium
The stadium is set into the side of the Rampart Range of the Rocky Mountains. Sight lines are incredible, as is gameday when you witness the flyovers, the cadet march-on, the performing Falcon mascot, the parachuters, and Falcon Fan Fest.
Just gotta agree with these two -- especially Michie Stadium at West Point in terms of scenery. Falcon stadium is newer and there isn't a bad seat anywhere -- great for televising.
The left out Navy-Marine Corps. Memorial Stadium at Annapolis. While old, you can look beyond the East stands and see the tops of sails on boats on the river. Same as at Army and AFA, the pre game and halftime festivities are inspiring with the Brigade march on. Looking at the names of Naval/Marine battles painted on the area between stadium decks is a humbling memorial.
Certainly three of the most beautiful places in American to watch a game on a Fall afternoon.
I've been to several of the other stadiums -- and the fact is that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder." What I mean is that they all have their good and bad points, but if you went to school "there" the memories alone can make a stadium much more than steel or concrete or stone.

From Mel Kiper ~
6. Washington State
A trip to Pullman when the Cougars are winning can be a nightmare for the opposition.
A trip to Pullman is always a nightmare. Every road that leads in and out of town is two lanes (just ask the guys from Seattle that shot & killed a football player from Idaho just a scant eight miles from Pullman and tried to get away), and the local airport is a joke. There are only a couple of flights a day on small props and it is only served by Horizon Air.
They did win the Apple Cup against UW though (which is the most important game), so they get props for that. However the only other game they won at home was against Idaho, and really, who doesn't beat Idaho?

Hey no pardon necessary boss, none of it is gospel and everyone's obviously biased. The lists didn't even compare the same thing, hence Miami's shitbox at 10 (based on non-stadium concerns purely). If I made the list, I'd put Autzen higher on both . . . look at the home/road splits for that team over the years, and considering how bad some of the teams really were, it's astounding. And no one would argue against A&M's inclusion on any of these lists, I wouldn't think.
As a total hijack, what's so bad about Kiper's draft recommendations? I think that if you look at them as a whole, he's pretty solid at breaking down tools and predicting a player's draft ranking, which is really all you can do (as performance doesn't always follow tools) with accuracy. He pisses me off b/c he's a jackmove that kisses certain schools on the ass (see: Miami above), but I can't really argue with his 'talents' or whatever.

Do you really want to go there?
According to the announcers on the telecast last night, Oklahoma loses 16 starters. Southern Cal get almost everyone back.
(OK, the recruiters in the National Scholars Program at O.U. fibbed to us when son signed up 2 1/2 years ago. They said O.U. would win a national championship in the "next couple of years." Should we sue, or is the free academic ride enough?)

Congrats on your boys winning it all - they played a hell of a game last night. No one would have beat them the way they played (and Oklahoma may not have beaten anyone the way they played).

His fight with the Colts GM after the drafting of Trev Alberts and Quentin Coryatt is one of the top 10 moments in ESPN history. Absolutely classic.
He's annoying as hell, but he's right more than anyone out there.
