My Southern Cal Trojans #2 in BCS standings!!! If we can win out against U of Arizona, UCLA, and Oregon State, we'll get a shot at Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl!!! And a chance to bring the National Championship back to the Pac-10!~

As an Oklahoma (see, DA, I did it) fan, I would welcome a shot at the Trojans. They look like the only team out there that could even give OU a run for their money. I'm not saying that I think the Men of Troy would stand a chance...
I'm just saying it probably wouldn't be a 50 point margin of victory for the Sooners
Hope to see ya'll in the Sugar Bowl!

The Oklahoma Sooners will win their 8th NC and tie with Notre Dame for the record. Perhaps will pass them in '04 with the 9th?
Ya'll can mark it down, call the bookie, it's essentially a done deal.

Isn't that a beautiful thing? Pete Carroll isn't NFL coaching material, for real, but he can do the job at the college level.

Nice writing style. The Associated Press would be proud of you.

SC fans believe OU is about the only team that can give us a run for our money (our freak loss in triple OT to Cal notwithstanding).
We've beaten our opponents by an average of 24 points. We have the 13th toughest schedule in the nation. It would be a good game.
And I think USC would come out on top by a narrow margin. I think either way, whomever wins, it will be by a narrow margin.

No point in #3 really, is there? For teams as good as Southern Cal and Oklahoma, its Nat'l Champ game or nothing.

I'll agree with that... USC is a good team. However, I have yet to see much reason to give creedance to the ability of PAC-10 teams. OU didn't get the PAC-10 butt-kicking that we'd anticipated in the Rose Bowl from Wazzu..
And UCLA this year allowed Jason White and company to score 50+.
Yeah.. K-State beat Cal

Yeah, we started out the season w a bunch of ranked teams--OU, Ore St, WA St. ASU, USC... and end up w just us and WA St. Pac 10 is a tough conference, because regardless of the disparity between the best (USC, WA St) and the worst in the conference, we all play each other pretty toughly, and an undefeated team w in the Pac 10 is pretty rare. USC did it in 88, our only loss was to Notre Dame. That was also the last time we were ranked 2nd, and the measles was decimating the campus and the football team that November. We had Rodney Peete and UCLA had Troy Aikman battling it out that year.
I never under-estimate our Pac 10 opponents. Everyone can have a good or bad week. Look at our loss to Cal as a prime example. We were too busy looking ahead to the next week and a ranked opponent and we got beat.
Hopefully that won't happen again, as I'd love a chance to play Oklahoma. It would be a great game. USC is far tougher than the rest of the Pac-10, that is a fact, but, as our loss to Cal shows, that doesn't make us unbeatable. But, unlike Miami, our loss was at beginning of season, which is why, of all the 1 loss teams, we will get the shot if we win out.

I am going to the bookie and saying no way on two in a row.
The way a team wins today isn't always talent but luck, fortune has to give a few heads up to the team who wins it all. This year maybe an exception but anything can happen. When OU won it all in 2000 no one expected it, and with Ohio State, same and Miami got lucky in not having to play Oregon that year. They would have matched up better than a slow playing Nebraska.
And for all other things I want USC to play in the title so that whoever wins will drop and FSU can claim no. 2
I just don't think Rix could beat Oklahoma.

Some of your "great" teams are capable of repeating.
OU has many starters that should be back next year and the depth to make another NC run.
If White gets his medical redshirt I definitely wouldn't count 'em out of the NC picture for next year.

And USC, if we don't win it this year--we'll be back next year and the year after. Williams and Leinart are sophomores. White is a freshman. We're a very young team. And we just signed the #1 high school recruit. USC Football is back to stay. Thank God!
FIGHT ON FOR OL' SC!
