The Panhellenic community at Penn State has lost a member of Sigma Delta Tau today due to injuries sustained in a car accident on the way to a canning trip. Other sisters of SDT, as well as brothers of KDR also sustained injuries in the crash. Please keep them, their families, and their brothers and sisters in your prayer this weekend.

My son's friend, who was in my Cub Scout den and then was the Senior Patrol Leader for the Boy Scout troop lost his dad in June. Yesterday, he lost his 27 y/o sister. He, himself, has been having all kinds of problems with his type I diabetes and has been in and out of the hospital. He's also started having seizures and his liver enzymes aren't right. Please lift him and his mom up in prayer as they cope with all these extremely difficult situations.

I lost my dad when I was 8 (he was 45) and my brother when I was 19 (he was 21). I cannot imagine going through that and such serious health issues. Praying for him and his family.

My mom had a colonoscopy on Thursday. They took out 3 polyps, 2 of which only measured about half a centimeter. The other one was much bigger, around 2 centimeters. They've been sent to the lab to determine if they're benign, precancerous, or cancerous. My grandfather (her father) passed away from colon cancer in 2008. Please pray that they're all benign! They said that the lab results can take up to 2 weeks. It sucks being on pins and needles like this at Christmas.....

So sorry, DS.
I've just learned of the death of a woman I went through rush with and a former student - both due to cancer.
I hate cancer. Please pray for peace for their families. Amy leaves behind a 10 year old daughter; Julian has been fighting cancer since he was in elementary school.
Cancer sucks.

If caught early, colon cancer is one of the most treatable cancers so stay positive She'll be in my prayers though.
G will find out Wednesday if the chemo is shrinking the tumors so prayers are very welcome at this point. Two high school "garage bands" did a cancer research benefit concert on Saturday night in honor of G and everybody wore their "Cancer has no friends" t-shirts. The kids did a great job. It is heart warming to see something like this bring out the good in these teenagers. G's mom seemed pretty stressed out and she generally puts on a happy face for everybody all the time, even all through her own bout with breast cancer. It's all pretty darn scary

Hope and prayers to you to ^^^^
My mom told me the doctor said it would be about 2 weeks to get results back. She now has an appt tomorrow morning with the doctor. My husband and I have decided that we will wait until we come home from work to call her and find out the results. Hoping, and praying, that the results are the best that they can be!

My mom was diagnosed with colon cancer today. I'm just in a state of shock....
We don't know anymore details than that. My mom will be having a CAT scan and having some other tests done tomorrow, and then tomorrow afternoon meet with the doctor and surgeon on what they're looking at. They believe it had started to penetrate the wall of her colon, but not gone all the way through. I hope that it is a good sign that they caught it early.
They also said it was rare for someone her age (meaning she's really young) to be diagnosed with colon cancer...she'll be 50 in April.

I thought that might be the case when they said two weeks and then made an appointment right away. Hopefully they caught it early. A lot of times, they can just remove the colon or part of the colon and it will be completely gone. They've come so far with technology... I've been fine without part of my colon and and part of small intestine for years now (due to Crohn's Disease). Stay positive and you and your mom will be in my prayers.
