I just came from the Obama campaign headquarters in my area and they need volunteers in North Carolina (and I think Georgia too, but don't quote me). If you go on the campaign website it will give you information about volunteering in other states.

I took my family to see Obama in Philly yesterday. This man is awesome; his political machine is outstanding!

Also, I ran across an interesting article on the whole guilt-by-association meme...check it out... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mike-l..._b_133758.html

I saw him in West Philly yesterday. It was crazy, amazing and moving. So many different people all in one place for one purpose. Hearing his voice sent the crowd into euphoria.

sorry no pics of him I was too far away but I did get to see him with my own eyes....le sigh

A non-politically active friend of mine, who knows I follow politics/support Obama, asked me how I could support someone who didn't pledge the flag or sing the anthem. He was teasing me, but HOW IN THE WORLD ARE PEOPLE STILL CAUGHT UP BY THE LIES?

He almost has an excuse, he doesn't watch the news, nor intend to vote (and damn it he's in Virginia ) but the people who brought the email into work and were talking about it? *Growl*

Fidel Castro's take

Castro says it's a 'miracle' Obama hasn't been assassinated

12 Oct, 2008, 1807 hrs IST, AGENCIES

HAVANA: Former Cuban president Fidel Castro charged that American society was marked by "profound racism" and that it was a "pure miracle" that US pr
esidential hopeful Barack Obama has not been assassinated.

"Profound racism exists in the United States," Castro wrote in a commentary that appeared on the website Cubadebate Saturday as he weighed in on the US presidential race ahead of the November 4 election.

"Millions of whites cannot reconcile in their minds with the idea that a black man with his wife and children would move into the White House, which is called just like that -- White," he wrote.

He added that it was a "pure miracle" the Illinois senator, who became the first black politician to win the Democratic Party's presidential nomination, had not been assassinated thus far.

The ailing Cuban communist leader, who handed power to his brother Raul earlier this year, described Obama as a politician who "has the habit of looking at his opponent with serenity and laughing at his rhetorical attacks."

Castro's comments came as a war of words with racial undertones marked the US White House race after civil rights icon John Lewis accused Republican candidate John McCain of sowing "hatred" against Obama, who is developing a commanding lead in opinion polls.

Castro also mocked McCain's poor grades at the naval academy and said Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin "knew nothing at all about anything."

Fidel isn't the only one suprised about the "pure miracle". And I am kind of feeling Castro on the fact that the Bradley Effect is real.

Dag Castro! lol Is this keeping it real international style?

I'm sure Hugo Chavez will have a commentary about the election soon too.

/\/\/\ I hear ya. McPAIN is a total tool. He is too busy trying to get in jabs and cheap shots than worrying about answering the questions.

I guess when you have so much riding on this debate, you will cut the monkey.

...so why did I hear it reported that Joe the Plumber is not even registered to vote?

McCain got the soundbite of the night (running against Bush), but he needed so much more.

Last night's debate was pretty much a crystalization of the last 3 weeks. The public, if the post-debate polls are to be believed, has gotten comfortable with the concept of Barack Obama as president. People are not really feeling "outrage" (real or perceived), when the 401(k) is taking a beatdown.

Joe the Plumber is a registered Republican and voted in the Republican primary. He also claims he's a fan of McSame. And Joe is not even a licenced (sp) plumber.

I think the candidates need to talk to Uncle Jitterbug the Plumber. At least he has his plumbing papers (and will most likely vote for Obama).
