ABC welcome to Kinnick Stadium. Ohio State, say goodbye to the national championship. Rumors are 70,000 terrible towels, jumbo-throns outside the stadium. First night game in almost 20 years, craziness.

I may be talking out of my ass.....but Auburn got pretty damn lucky tonight from my point of view.
.........and Ohio State will beat Iowa by at least 20.....I am however betting on Michigan to beat the Buckeyes.

goodbye to the nat'l title? weeeell, maybe not... Iowa is 0-9-1 all time against No.1 ranked teams.
Bring on the "terrible" towels; I'll roll with Troy Smith, Anthony Gonzalez, Antonio Pittman, Ted Ginn Jr., and the boys. It should be a good game, though.

OMG. If I have to hear one more thing about ESPN GameDay and Iowa and Go Hawkeyes and that goddam fight song one more time, I'm going to pull a Van Gogh. I know it's a hazard of living on this side of the state, but for real!
I'm so glad we sold those damn tickets, I just wish we would have gotten more for them.

The only thing I think we got lucky on is that we played well on defense, and we're luckier we werent playing a better team. We didn't get a lucky touchdown or anything to win, we deserved to win, it was just ugly.
On a side note, I hate ESPN. After the game they're talking about AU's chances for an SEC and BCS title, they were like "South Carolina came within a completion at the end of ending Auburn's chances..." I was under the impression that a touchdown was 6 points. Make the extra point, and its tied. I guess tie goes to the hometeam, no overtime... Also, after the game they put up a poll online about who the best team was, and they reported it on SportsCenter that USC was ahead with 120k votes at like 48 percent to AU's 37...Only in reality it was switched at that point in voting. It was all over the AU boards last night, people were pissed and writing letters and such, but its ESPN, and they love Southern Cal...
Trev Alberts talked about it this morning, and said its basically bulls**t how ESPN says Auburn has to get style points, but nobody else does. Herbstreit in espn chat yesterday said AU had to prove an offense, yet when somebody asked him why OSU or USC or ND has to prove they have defense, he didn't answer.
I really don't think AU drops unless USC kills WSU, but I really don't care about it, we played poorly, but we're 5-0, I'll take it. If we win out, they can't say anything, I just hate how ESPN consistantly and openly roots against every SEC team with the exception of UF. Its annoying.

Oklahoma dropped about 5-6 spots after struggling with UAB. UAB and SC are pretty much on par with each other. This early in the season, I think style points should matter -- no one did anything to earn their preseason rankings. Did Auburn play like the #2 team in the country last night? I don't think they did.
Of course, I'm willing to give them a little credit for playing an away game on a Thursday night and still coming away with the win.

I don't really think we played like no. 2 either, but I'd put South Carolina ahead of UAB, at least with Newton at QB. I think part of the reason Oklahoma dropped is because it was leftover from Bomar thing, people just needed an excuse...Auburn may drop, I don't know that we deserve no. 2, but then with the exception of Louisville, I don't know another team that deserves any more than us...
