Kellie and Bucky need to go.. and I hope this week they do.
I think I probably wouldn't mind her as much if she wasn't putting on such a fake act. Trying to play stupid to get votes. Selling an image thats all, but at least have it be your own.

I think I would have been shocked at it NOT been Lisa to go. Even though a lot of the contestants were horrible the other night, she completely butchered Kelly Clarkson's song.

Also, who thought of having the loser sing when they are kicked off? It is so stupid. First of all, usually they are crying and can't sing. Secondly, if they sang that particular song well, they wouldn't have been voted off! I mean last night when Lisa reprised "Because of You" it was painful. We didn't like it the first time, so why make us endure it again?
|
Really!! I knew Lisa was gone when she wrecked that song on Tues. I certainly did not want to hear it again. Same flat notes at the same places.

Yeah, but I don't consider him a really good singer.

I think he'd be more likely to sing some kick ass Toby Keith.

If Elliott sings Garth Brooks' Shameless and pulls it off, I will dial in for him until my fingers fall off. I love, love, love that song and he definitely has the voice for it.

They did the same thing to John Peter Lewis on season 3. They told him to come out of his box of being this crazy dancing man with lots of energy. They said, slow it down. So he did. Then they said, we don't like the slow it down, you aren't staying true to your roots, blah blah blah. He eventually was booted around the 9th place.
And for those of you that just joined the "I think 19 Evil picks the winner" train... welcome aboard. The producers have their "winner" picked from the auditions. It's a matter of airtime and angles from here on out. They'll probably throw one of the top performers into the bottom 3 for "suspense" and "come on America, you aren't voting enough!" to please the sponsors. (You Cingular is getting some sort of kick back...)
Country week? Man... this never turns out good because people end up picking country-POP songs. Although I will be really tickled if someone picks a Joshua Gracin (season 2) song. THAT would be hysterical.

Per the American Idol site, the theme for next week (not this upcoming country week) will be the music of Queen! That will be interesting.

I was thinking "I Want To Break Free", complete with vacuum. Now, that would be comedy gold. No, comedy gold would be Little Miss Pickler doing "I'm in Love With My Car".

Chris. They want another side of Chris and that would ensure they'd get one! Besides, if he really lets loose with it, I'd be in heaven.
How I wish that someone would do "Teo Torriatte" and do it well. Or "Rock It/Prime Jive". Or even "It's A Kind of Magic."

Ick, why are they doing a Queen theme week? I don't get the appeal at all. I also hate when they have such a narrow selection of song choices- i.e. one band or artist to pick from. I think it's much better when they have a genre or time period to pick from.

I would vote my fingers off for Ace if he did that in drag with the vacuum!
I'm guessing Bucky would do "Crazy Little Thing Called Love," since it was covered by Dwight Yoakum. If he doesn't do it, Kellie will.
I can see Mandisa doing "The Show Must Go On" or "Don't Stop Me Now."
Katharine can do "No One But You (Only The Good Die Young)."
I want someone to do "Seven Seas of Rhye" and "Hammer To Fall." Either of those would be good for Chris.
I think the group sing on elimination night should be "Another One Bites The Dust."

Sorry, Dani, but I love Queen. Real Queen, not this Queen + Paul Rodgers stuff. Now, if they could have convinced George Michael or even Robbie Williams, I could have tolerated it. But that's another thread for another time!
So, onto the info I found courtesy of alt.tv.american-idol. Looks like they're releasing another Queen greatest hits package with a couple of Paul Rodgers' songs that week. Promote new album = AI theme week. Wonder if we'll get to see Brian on Wednesday? So, my money says we'll hear selections from the following Queen/Free/Bad Co songs, based on the track listing:
1. Tie Your Mother Down
2. Fat Bottomed Girls
3. Another One Bites The Dust
4. Crazy Little Thing Called Love
5. We Will Rock You
6. We Are The Champions
7. Radio Ga Ga
8. Bohemian Rhapsody
9. Show Must Go On, The
10. These Are The Days Of Our Lives
11. I Want It All
12. All Right Now
13. Feel Like Making Love
No chance of a vacuum or anyone loving their Car. I'm so sad. We'll have, what, 8 left next week?

Maybe the theme to Flash Gordon?
Now that'd be hysterical.
ETA: Apparently I have to wait until next week to see the hilarity...
