Oh, I didn't mean the matching process wasn't transparent in how it worked; I meant that the whole recruitment process, to me, is very nontransparent to most participants. For example, most of the chapter has no idea who we invited back and then whom of those PNMs did not choose to come back. Similarly, with QAs. Why did one chapter get so many QAs and another got none. I believe this lack of transparency leads to a lot of rumors. I'm not suggesting I know a better way to handle these things, but I do believe lack of transparency allows people to come up with their own explanations.

Thank you for the breakdown. Just wanted to state that if these are the numbers based on bids, I wonder what the % are for first day of recruitment. Many girls are released prior to bid day. If these numbers are final bid numbers, OF COURSE there will be a proportionate amount of OOS and IS as all these ladies were offered bids. I would be interested to see what % OOS and IS end up with bids from the beginning of the week.

False. Many women voluntarily withdraw prior to bid day because they are unhappy with their invitations.

Well, it shoudn't be if that's what you are seeing. The chapter - at least the officers of recruitment- what we call EVC in Delta Gamma - can see ALL the numbers so they know who they didn't invite and who ranked them where. So while they may not release that information to all 200 chapter members, the information is there in RFM reports. I think it would be difficult - if not unethical - to go over each PNM with all 100-200 chapter members not to mention you don't have the time between rounds.
And I think most people can figure out the QAs if they have the RFM info. You really should not be putting that sort of info out for public dissemination.

True, I should have included "withdraw/released". Many of these girls go in with desires to join certain sororities without realizing they may not be candidates initially. The more I read the more I realize how wonderful all these sororities are. If any parent asks me for advice.....it will be to keep an open mind and do not limit your choices. And try not to be disappointed if you are not invited back to "the" sorority. There are too many factors involved in the process. Many of which you cannot control.

I wanted to give an update on my daughter's recruitment at Auburn. First, I want to say to any rising hs senior girl and mom reading this thread who are preparing for recruitment at Auburn next year that the ladies at GC are an invaluable resource!
I also want to say that my daughter loved something about every single chapter at Auburn. You will read that statement and hear that statement over and over...because it is absolutely true!
I asked my daughter what she would tell someone about going through recruitment to know....
1. Practice talking to anyone and everyone!!!
During hs my daughter was very involved in our community and in her school. She worked with tons of adults and took on leadership roles in her school and our community.
2. Keep and open mind and find something special (easy to do) about each chapter!
She said that there was not a chapter that she couldn't see herself becoming a part of. Of course, there were chapters that she was more connected to than others, but she would have been fine, in the end, with any one on campus!
I don't want to give to much info about my daughter, but I will say she is just a sweet girl who works very hard and was not a legacy.
Soooo, I would like to share that my daughter is the newest pledge of .....
Alpha Gamma Delta !!!!
