Even though Tasia's singng was a mess... her performance and energy was good. Part of the reason she won during her season.. she was never afraid of the stage or taking a risk

I cannot be the only one who wants to punch David A. in the face. Seriously, get a grip kid.

Not that I'm condoning violence or anything, but you aren't the only one.

Thank you! Not that I think he is terrible because he has a wonderful voice. Just to me, the type of songs he sing will not do well on radio. When he picks songs he picks slow songs my mom listens to. The one pop song he did was a mini train wreck. I see him more on Broadway then on radio. Plus his facial expressions kill me inside.

Honestly? I think Cook threw it. The way he complimented DA so heartily at the beginning, said as far as he's concerned the contest is over and now they're just having fun and he stepped back and applauded DA, he did it again at the very end, I think David C. is ready for a huge career but that he'd be just as happy not carrying the title of "American Idol". DA is the perfect little minion for the big AI machine to take, mold and spit out into the market. David Cook is by far my favorite as an artist and performer, but I really didn't think he won the night. But then, I don't really think he was trying to.

What were Simon's comments after David Cook's last song and what was David A's last song? My power went off which meant my TIVO did as well. Damn thunderstorms.

I totally agree! I just didn't feel it coming from Cook! The first song was good, in fact I disagree with Simon, I think he by far won the first round. Though I really think he should have picked a better song which was a fan favorite, "Dare you to move" would have been nice!

Honestly, DA will probably win and get the record deal and sing until he finally hits puberty and his voice changes!

Cook will wait a few weeks, sign a record deal and do better than DA.

The title American Idol doesn't mean anything anymore!!! Daughty anyone?

DC was very emotional at the end of his song, which was very touching. Simon said it was a beautiful song but the wrong song to sing on that night. He suggested he should have gone with his version of "Billie Jean" or "Hello" (actually, after hearing it, I realized I would have LOVED to hear him sing Hello again). DC took the criticism, but didn't agree, he said he wanted to show progress every week and didn't want to do something he'd already done.

DA, on the other hand, went back to the slam dunk and sang Imagine (he didn't play piano this time, though). All of the judges loved it and Simon declared the night a "knock out" for DA. (I really could have done without all the boxing stuff tonight too. I cringed for them both when they had to do that opening spot in the robes and gloves.)

I've been trying to vote for an hour and a half and only got through once. I am trying to vote for David...

Cook, that is.

And I'm kicking myself for getting rid of Cingular/ATT so I could just text like last year.

And I wanted to add I was glad to see Ruben tonight. I forgot how much I like his voice, he really is a lovely singer. But I'm sad to see he's not taking better care of his health, I was hoping that would be a high priority after he won.

ETA: and for those of you trying to vote -- are they still taking votes? -- are you trying on a landline or your cell? I haven't voted tonight because I'm feeling like things should just take whatever course they will (though I stand by my preference of DC not being bound by the AI contract), but when I've voted in the past, I noticed I never got through on my cell but had a lot more luck on my landline
