Could we skip the ethnic slurs, please? Thank you.

Maybe he's just been hanging out with too many out of staters.
(I can never keep straight if he is supposed to be from TX and attending school in Alabama, or from Alabama attending school in TX, or if he started in TX, went to undergrad in AL, and now is back in TX for law school. Or if his daddy is a lawyer or a former pro football player.)

Are you in Atlanta with a bunch of Northern transplants? That doesn't count.

It's called "male-centered language" and is part of perpetuating a patriarchal and sexist society.

It's all over the country. That's why I don't listen to people's excuses for using it.

Or it's because you have to default to something.
Is Spanish sexist because a group of girls plus even one guy is masculine?

That's not sexism...
/Neither is the word "woman"
//"Womyn" is stupid

Yes.
Who determined that there had to be a gender neutral term? How did male become the default to the point where female is figuratively (and sometimes literally) invisible in society?
Oh, I get it--it's because Adam was a male and Eve came from his rib..........
Either case, going back and forth with you on this is the same as going back and forth with macallan if you also fail to see the social significance of it all.

Because without a gender neutral term you have to choose male or female. In English you can say "They" in Latin languages you have to say "They-female or "They-male"
Saying "you guys" is casual, NOT Sexist.
See sexism where it's hurting something. If women are "invisible in society" due to saying "You guys"... it is not the men's fault.

Someone about 2000 BC. If you want to go and try to change 4000 years of history and tradition, be my guess.
"Yo, all you its" - is that neutral enough for you?
/Also refraining from a SHIM reference.
