I just hung up from one of my best friends, whose son is my godson. Her husband, Randy, was diagnosed with prostate cancer in February (which I knew), but it has metasticized into his bones. If you don't know much about bone cancer, it's probably the most painful, but not the "fastest". He had had the cancer for 10-12 years prior to them finding it, and since he was adopted, they had no clue as to medical history.
Anyhow, they are asking for the Lord to guide them as to provision, medical treatment, and their three kids. Their faith is amazing! If you would take a moment to pray for the Lord to guide Randy's family, I would so appreciate it. Thank you, Sisters.
Edited to add a Praise Report: I went to a service today (kicking and screaming, to be honest!), and it was so amazing, so blessed, I was so happy to pass some of that joy on to my friend!! God bless her, she came from a big family, and went to work out of high school so she could put her twin sisters through college! She has such a loving spirit...

Honey, I'll definitely be thinking of Randy and his family during these next weeks and months that he's given to be with them.
I have a sort of prayer/praise (I guess I could call it that). My mom told me this evening that a friend of hers and my step-father (I haven't met them) called and told them that his wife (who has cancer, not sure of the type at the moment) is not doing too well, and the chemo is making her worse, and I believe they've come to the decision to let whatever will happen, happen (if that makes any sense). Her husband asked where she'd like to go (warm-weather wise) for Christmas - Mexico, San Diego, etc. She said that San Diego sounded like a good idea, so my mom and step-father have offered to let them stay here (they're taking their motorhome) during the Christmas holiday, so we'll be inviting them into our family for the holidays. It's a praise because I'm so glad that my parents have opened up our house to share with them, and Christmas time is a wonderful time to be with family, whether it's biological or one of your own making. I just pray that whatever she's going through right now, that she's comforted and wrapped in Jesus's loving arms for these next weeks, months, and however long she's granted to stay here with her family.
Also, prayers for Eta Sigma (and our other collegiate chapters) who are preparing for upcoming elections, that the elections help to unify and energize each chapter for the upcoming calendar year!

Well as I am sure some of you have noticed, I have not been online very much lately. My family has been going through some hard times and they need your prayers. My grandmother is fighting Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer (which is basically a death sentence) and she just had a tracheotomy yesterday at the Cleveland Clinic....she will now move in with my mom and dad and live there for the rest of her life...which seems like it will be short...my mom is an RN and will be trained on how to take care of her....she will be going on Family Leave. My uncle is still battling lung cancer and a tumor on his adrenal gland...he was the one who had brain cancer surgery earlier this year...I saw him yesterday and he is not looking to good....he got really sick last night and had to go to the hospital today. Last Friday, I found out a friend from HS is battling stage 4 lymphoma....he is doing ok...but nothing is 100% sure as he is still getting chemo treatments.
So as you can see things are a little tough right now and I need everyone's prayers. I will keep all of you updated on their health. My grandma should come home Sunday from the CC and my uncle went into ER this morning so we will see. Love you all!

I'm so sorry, I wish there was something I could do. Your family will be in my thoughts. I can semi-relate to your situation. My dad informed me the other day that my uncle has been diagnosed with Thyriod cancer. He lives in Norway and the drs there want to operate but that pretty much means he'll never be able to speak again. My dad wants him to come out to the states and get a second opinion. If this happens he'll be staying out in CA with me and my dad. Its deja vou all over again for me because my grandfather stayed with my family when I was in the 7th grade when he was going through chemo for his lung cancer. If you ever need a shoulder to lean on or vent PM me!

Please add one of our sisters to your prayers. She was diagnosed with Lyme Disease recently. This disease can leave a person paralyzed. She's been struggling with arthritis since she was 15, and now at age 26 has this to contend with. Her spirits are strong, her doctor is excellent and there are chances she will kick this, and that her arthritis will improve as a result of the treatment. She's a sweet person with incredible faith and I appreciate your sending positive thoughts.

Could we all please keep all of our pregnant sisters in prayer? There are so many complications that can happen, and I'm so thankful to our Lord that Sherra just had a bad reading, and not the problem she thought she had!!
Let's think healthy pregnancies & babies for all!!

Please pray for my family. My uncle (the one who had the brain tumor removed earlier this year) died unexpectedly this morning (I am guessing from the complications of his lung, adrenal gland, and bone cancer). We were not planning on this happening so soon, and honestly I was praying it would not happen at all. His children are only 26, 24, 18, and 15....my heart breaks for them and I cannot wait to get down to Columbus to see them and my aunt on Wednesday.
All three of my sisters are coming home....so please pray for a safe trip for them. My parents are heading down there tomorrow.. and one of my sisters comes in tomorrow and another on Wednesday....and then we will head down there. My youngest sister still has exams and will travel back and forth from school (about a 2 hour trip) for the services.
Please continue to pray for my grandmother....she will be in Hospice until we arrive home on Friday or Saturday. She is such a fighter and strong woman....but she is taking the news about my uncle (her son-in-law) really hard. I hope we get to spend Christmas with her and make it through the holidays....it is so nice to be so close to her right now and being able to spend so much time with her is wonderful.
Please hug all of your relatives and let them know how much they mean to you this holiday season!
Loyally,
Andrea

I could use some good thoughts right now.
I have an IEP meeting today at 1pm and the child's IEP is barely done.
I have an Aims meeting (the stupid state test that my kids will NEVER pass I don't care if it is an "alternative" version) from 3:15-5:00.
Then I have to rush home, change and be back to the school by 5:30 (the latest) for the winter program tonight that I am REQUIRED to attend (even though NONE of my kids are in the program)
I have to write lesson plans for my kids who I won't see for three weeks and they are due tomorrow at 9am (for some odd reason they are due when we are all in the classrooms teaching). To make it even more difficult I am rearranging the room to do centers (reading, writing and math). Each group is at a different level and I haven't figured out the schedule yet.
I'm so stressed right now it isn't even funny.
Oh and to make things more complicated my teacher said that if I wanted to get an A in my class I could email the correct assignments to her by today otherwise I will get a B. I really wanted that A but I haven't had time to do anything, let alone those assignments.
Seriously there aren't enough hours in the day!!!
What I would give for a punching bag right now.

you can use Mike as your punching bag, Bri lol.
sending good thoughts your way.
Nothing serious here right now. Just stressing about getting all my Christmas stuff done by next week so I can go on vacation.
I have a interview on Friday with a great company. Please send some good vibes my way. I really want this position. Its 8-4 and right in my city. Its exactly what Im looking for. The owner of the company keeps emailing me how impressed he is with my cover letter and resume and the lady I did a phone interview with today said the same, but this happened before when someone kept complimenting me on my resume and I got my hopes up, then they went with someone with like 5 more year experience than me. Im hoping for a break for once.

Hello everyone...long time no talk. I am asking for you to pray for my family. This Christmas is going to be very difficult. My grandma was supposed to be coming back home tomorrow from what was supposed to be her brief stay in respite care at Hospice while we were away for my Uncle's funeral (we returned last Thursday night and they still have not released her)...we were told two days ago that she would be coming home for Christmas...and about 3 hours ago we received the news she will not be coming home ever again. The tumor is starting to cover the trache (she had a tracheotomy about a month ago)and soon she will not be able to breathe...they did not want to send her home in my mom's care as planned because they are afraid she will go into cardiac arrest. So part of Christmas Eve and all day Christmas we will be spending at Hospice....and the following days until my grandma is no longer with us.
So please pray for my family...most importantly my grandmother.
Have a safe and happy holiday!!
Loyally
