AOII is closing our chapter at Quincy University at the end of the semester. I am not surprised by this one - the university has faced financial challenges and has not been interested in growing Greek life, in my view, in some time.

Well, the first announcement has come - expecting there will be more. Pi Beta Phi is closing at Birmingham Southern due to the College closing at the end of this academic year.

Alpha Epsilon Phi announced via Instagram they will establish a chapter at Elon University this Fall 2024. Excited for them. Can't remember the last new chapter they added.

Dang. Well, expect 5 more to follow. KD and AOII have chapters at UAB and Samford. Chi O and Zeta have chapters at Samford. I don't know if the chapters will merge with their Birmingham counterpoints upon closure.
Pi Phi and Alpha Chi have strong chapters elsewhere in Alabama, but not in metro Birmingham.

Looking at the list on Wikipedia, the last one was in 2020 at Concordia University in Quebec.

UAB, Samford, and BSC? BSC is in west Bham, UAB is downtown, and Samford is south of town.

KD at Birmingham Southern is closing. I saw the announcement on Instagram. I didn't realize the whole school was closing until reading this thread.

Just read that Phi Mu at VCU was suspended for selling prescription drugs. Editing for clarity: Phi Mu National had already pulled their Charter a few weeks ago.
