So not only should they not be posted but I'm not even sure that that is the "correct" information about the blonde-r houses at USC and one of the houses that you posted as a having a parking lot full of expensive cars prides themselves on NOT being that way (and they indeed are pretty much the opposite).

Ahem . . . I had friends in all three of those houses that were on full and partial financial aid . . . a lot of them. Sure there are girls that fit the stereotype of very financially well off but not every girl in all of those three chapters does. Heck . . . I even went to a fake purse party at one of those chapters when I was an undergrad!

Oh, but wait!!! You left out Kappa!!! The also" blonde and rich" sorority!!!

Can I also mention that my sweet cousin is a member of one of her 3 chapters-and on partial financial aid??

Rolling in the mud for fraternity boys is not my idea of a good time.
Maybe helping the Sigma Chis raise money for charity (because that's what Derby Days is about if you would bother to check it out) WAS their idea of a good time. Or was it the "sturdy" factor that put you off?

FWIW I don't have a dog in this fight because my sorority is not now and has never been at USC.

I know that they're no longer #1 in college football!

It's nasty, but at most campuses I know of, what's said on JuicyCampus is for the most part true or pretty close to the truth. I know people who have bad things written about them (and there isn't anything nice on JC) aren't going to be the biggest fans, but aside from some things which are clearly jokes not much of what I've seen has been particularly off base.

jen0830 made some valid points about Greek life at certain southern cal schools. I attended ucsb waaaay back in the eighties, and us rushees, as we were called, were told that rush was casual, not competitive, all the houses were great and got along well, and, of course, that everyone could find a Greek home. Well, I remember rush as being terribly competitive, and I also recall certain houses were extremely selective. There was plenty of "tent talk," and houses had definite reputations. In short, rush was absolutely nothing like what I had been told. Lots of girls withdrew, or were released. Now, in those days, there were girls (only a few, but it did happen.) who would rush and pledge at ucsb, then transfer to ucla or usc. The SEC is not the only place where this happened. I think it is far kinder, in the long run, to tell PNM's what recruitment can really be like, than to "blow smoke and sunshine." On a slight tangent (or hijack!) does anyone have any thoughts to share about recruitment at ucsb?

There's a big difference between not blowing smoke and sunshine (which everyone pretty much supports putting a stop to) and repeating tired stereotypes which may or may not be true (and ripping on other chapters in the process).

No one said to the OP "I'm sure you will get into DG if that's the group you want." THAT would be blowing sunshine up her ass.
