I didn't think she'd be cat enough to delete her post or else I would have quoted it myself.

She wanted to know if Alpha Kappa Alpha would accept her, even though she was a 22 year old junior. She stated that she had taken time off to have kids. She had done research and decided that Alpha Kappa Alpha was for her. That's the most I could make of it from decoding the spelling, punctuation, capitalization and grammatical errors.

We'll see which of the identities reappear: interested_n or mother_2....

Yes, that was pretty much it! She's interested (thus the clever login) and wants in, wanted directions to the nearest check-in line where she could just sign up, get her pearls and pink and green para and get on with it. You know, basic membership sign up stuff. I'm sure she found her way.

I'm IBTL too.

Sigh. You would think with the Centennial Celebration having come and gone that there would be less trolls, less of the threads entitled "How can I be your Soror so I can party in DC with y'all?" Alas, the trolls just keep coming out of the woodworks.

BTW, IBTL

What are the odds that "all three" of these persons joined today and took interest in this particular conversation/thread?

Of course, WE did. If you've "been lurking quite a while," as you claim, you'd see that WE have a whole thread here dedicated to it. But, you were just SOOOO overwhelmed by this thread, you just HAD to pick today, of all days, to FINALLY sign up for an account, yet have not taken the time to comment on the Black in America thread.... seeing as how you seem so interested in the series.

I believe we have 3 threads about the CNN series. Lurkers would know that.

I am aware there a couple threads on the subject, that was my poor attempt at being a smart-ass.

I enjoyed the discussions, I prefer to just lurk though. But, if you want my two cents on the special - I think it reinforced a lot of negative stereotypes about black men. They made it seem like young educated/professional black men are non-existant, and the few who are "sell-out".

Interested_n/mother_2, just get over it. You can't come here with a membership question but you can go to another thread and participate in the CNN discussion. You don't have to try to deflect and keep your failed thread at the top, k?
