A couple of people have posted this! While an interesting historical fact, did this make him famous at the time?
I guess that's my question. In the late 19th/early 20th century the concept of "fame" was a bit different than it is now. What counts as famous? I think there are very few founders who are household names today. Although of course we could debate about which are more significant than others.
To my knowledge none of the Pi Phi founders became famous by my definition of that term. I know Jennie Nicol became a physician, which was pretty unheard of for that day.
I know our founder's page emphasizes the quiet charm and missionary work of many of the founders. Quite a few of them married pastors. And did good work for Pi Phi "in the home." LOL. I find the little write-ups sort of droll.
